We decided to up our game a tad bit and review this stout. Bushman and Black Rain are back at it again. This time as Hipsters.

No Hipsters were harmed in filming of this beer review

I agree. It's pretty good. Southern Prohibition is putting out some stellar beers. Their Fire Ant is my personal favorite. Keep drinking them craft brews.

The Hattiesburg Craft Beer Festival should be fun. I went to the first one last year. The one problem with it for many Bulldog fans this year: it takes place during Super Bulldog Weekend. Link.

Agreed. I'd love to go considering we might have Sweetwater and New Belgium in the state by then. That's a tough choice though but the bulldogs always win out. There will be plenty of beerfests this year. Only one baseball season though.

Their marketing girl is a good bulldog and one of the craziest people I know (in a good way).

Love me some SoPro!

Everything they make is good. Keg and Barrel (their home pub) is pretty great too. Damn chicken n waffles......their tour is top notch.

I tried

it and thought it tasted like cigs. Sorry. I'm a big stout fan, too, and no my favorite beer isn't Michelob ultra.....

ETA: I had the abita macchiato (sp???) the other day at Sal & Mookies and enjoyed it.

If you see NOLA brewery's Irish Channel Stout around (they just started canning it I believe) it's worth a try. Pretty damn good beer.

I had a Hipster reakfast last night

and it was very tasty. Simply because it got talked up through this post and I couldn't resist. SP is putting out some great stuff.

Emily is great. She actually asked us to do a review for them. She is a wild one for sure, nothing but nice things to say about her.

That's awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. SoPro is on fire right now and is making a case for the best brewery in the state IMO.

As far as the louisana stouts go

Can't beat a parade ground. Brewed by Tin Roof out of red stick. They started canning it a few months ago. Not sure if Tin Roof is in MS yet.

And if you get a chance to go to the NOLA brewery taproom, see if they have the Girl Stout Cookie.

What's the latest info on those two breweries. I know New Belgium is coming to Alabama real soon..

I've been told New Belgium in March or April. Sweetwater keeps saying soon so I'm assuming around the same time. They both are for sure coming though.

NB 1554 Black Lager is also very good. Had their Ranger IPA recently and liked it a LOT! 17n pumped NB will be in MS soon!!! I've been emailing them monthly requesting it down here. Different responses each time so I'm assuming a real person is responding back. You don't see that much these days.

The SoPro Fire Ant Red Ale is one of my new favorites. Smashed a growler fill of that recently and it smashed my head when I fell down later that night.

Fire Ant is prolly my favorite they do. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is falling down out there.

NB is great and their Shift and Ranger IPA along with Red Hoptober are my faves. Hell they are all good. Can't wait.
