It's amazing how a private company can figure out how to do this. Space X is Elon Musk as well as Tesla. How can someone get rich off one thing (Paypal, I think) and then use that wealth to do amazing things like both Space X and Tesla? Now that I'm complaining, but I'm just amazed that it can happen.

It is surprising to you that a private company can do something like this? Most of the great industrial and technological advancement of our lives has been by private entity.
