All,
A lot of you have contacted me asking about my tailgate. WELLLLL, bad news on the horizon. I had a knee scope on the 16th of August & I will be having my rotator cuff, labrum and my shoulder socket worked on in 2 weeks. That means I will be on OJI for approximately the next 4 months. The surgeon has already told me that there will be no lifting of any sort for at least 6 weeks. I won't be able to lift a cooler, tent, tables anything, let alone cook and grill things. Sorry ladies & gentlemen. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the heads up, Spark. Prayers to you, family & the medical staff operating on you.
Here's to a full, speedy recovery.

No lifting?...not even a 12 oz. Old Mil? Better line up a beer bong & ask the bride to lock & load 'em for ya.

We do a tailgate for most games. If you need help setting up on site, I'm happy to pitch in when I'm down there.

Might take you up on that . My brother will be here this weekend & we're trying to make a plan for this year. 15 years ago it was a card table and a subway sandwich. Once again, I'll keep ya posted. :)

Orthopedic issues suck. Get better Sparky!
Freaking hate them.

Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery!!

Would this be considered your redshirt year? Winking

Not a doubt in my mind RS as a 17 year senior.

Now that's funny ****.

Show up and farm out the lifting, Sparky. About a million people on here will help you out.

We're Nebraskans. We suck at asking for help. Get over it and tailgate on!

Get better quickly. This too will pass.

Have you ordered advertising stickers for your walker?
But seriously hang in there. If you need any help just holler. I am sure your profession took a toll.

Actually have a small roll of stickers, I kid you not. :). The job has had an effect. Thanks. :)

Unloading & setting up isn't really the problem.
It's getting everything ready & loading it into the truck. Cooking, coolers, tents, sandbags for the tents, grills, tables, totes etc. Remember, we also pull a 5th wheel down to Lincoln. Everything in the bed of the truck has to go OVER the hitch or I have to take the hitch out. I'm working on it, trust me.

Rotator/labrum is not an easy rehab. Be very diligent about doing exactly what your PT tells you to do. Don't be too aggressive or you can develop tendinitis which takes forever to heal. I went through this several years ago and it was a long, slow burn. Good luck Sparky!

You're the best Sparky, hope everything heals quickly for you. Some day I should like to meet you. Maybe next year for the Colorado game.
