thought they played really well last night. Kick coverage was great, downed a punt inside the two, (Got a first down for penelty for running into kicker on play). Punt coverage was ok. Yes gave up a to but was really aided and broke free by about three block in the backs at point of catch. Special teams has been a big inprovement so far this season.

By and large I'd agree but I'll add the freshman punter, who has nice potential, was erratic. Would've liked to have seen a few more inside the 20. But he's a plus and an improvement over last year.
Grant McKinniss has not been erratic. He got a punt blocked in the 1st half against Southern Miss. Since then, he has been solid to great. Our special teams are playing well. Kick coverage has been the best in years. My only question is how Austin MacGinnis will respond when called upon to kick a critical 40-50 yard FG. I am not worried about Austin's leg, but he doesn't look like a very confident kicker right now.
Was talking about the punter being erratic in last night's game...and he was. Booms one like 60 yards with great hang time then hits one about 30 yards on a line drive. But he's done well overall, just needs to clean up a few things.
Maybe McKinniss doesn't land every punt on a dime, but he has not been erratic. Have you ever punted in a competitive football game?
