reading about their losing Autry to us. I've never seen a fanbase so butthurt over losing a recruit. Lots of negative comments about our recruitment of JUCO players, JUCOs in MS being dirty, Cam Newton recruitment, $$$$$$$, blah blah blah. It seems like they've already forgotten how ****** they have been over the last 2 yearsincluding that end of the year L in Lexington, KY. I suppose their recruitment of Scotty Hopson, Josh McNeil, and Rajon Neal was all above board. Hillbilly idiots in full force on that board.

They are acting no different than we, or most other fan bases when a big recruit is lost. Scotty Hopson, Josh McNeil, CJ, Pat Patterson, CAM...... The meltdowns over losing them was an epic failure on our parts.

We knew he was a big deal, and we were all anticipating the commitment to us. Hindsight shows we most likely would have won a national championship since our supporting cast was better than Auburns.

25 + pages and counting so far. I don't think we took it to the same level as they are doing. The other thing is we have put a better product on the field the last 2 years than UT. It's not like Autry spurned a 10-2 team in favor of a 4-8 team. In contrast, CJ and company chose the sinking rebel ship overa clearly up and coming MSU program and did so during a recruiting dead period. They would have gone completely ballistic if that same scenario had played out for them. Bottom line is I'm happy as hell to get Autry. SEC games & titles are won in the trenches on both sides of the LOS. We need to shore up the OLnow to round out this class. We need at least 1 JUCO OL that can step in and play immediately. I do think that Clausellhas gotten way too much criticism on this board. I remember watching Sherrod get tooled during his FR and SO yearsand wondered if he would ever pan out for us. OL need time and experienceto become effective in this league. Welcome aboard Mr. Autry. Come on down, Mr. Jacobs.

Sherrod was a top tier recruit who could have gone most anywhere. Clausell was a "diamond in the rough" find for our staff so it just makes it a little more difficult to have faith that he will grow into an adequate SEC LT which is a VERY tough job.

do they not think that recruits can look and see that its obvious Derek Dooley's days are numbered?

but I'm excited to have Autry because I think he can step in and provide immediate depth at his position. It was easy to get frustrated with Clausell but he is/was a freshman who came in and was serviceable. That is a lot to ask for a freshman, and he will get much better with another spring under his belt. He will get stronger and his footwork will improve as well.

is that someone else who would be a starter otherwise is going to be coming off the bench. Autry is going to be a monster for us the next 2 years. </p>

I think you have Autry and Siddoway confused. Siddoway is the juco lt. Autry is going to fill the void Big Pern left when he graduated.
