we are young back there but I don't see how our OL is so poorly rated. We return everyone and it's filled with upperclassmen from a team that ran the ball well last year.

You'd think that since there is nothing for a college football sportswriter to cover he'd be all over what's going on in preseason for most of the teams. But he probably just threw out some grades to justify the ratings.

judgment is preferred in the USA and judgement is preferred in England (and I think Australia and Canada).

Obviously that's not engineers. Mostly writers, editors, professors, etc.

Here's another interesting tidbit. The last word in your post...forte.....most people pronounce it "four-tay." Linguists or whoever make these decisions have begrudgingly accepted that pronunciation as standard now, but insist that "fort" is the proper pronunciation. Impress your friends with that bit of knowledge at lunch today.

Speaking of engineers, i get my grammar smarts from the dweebs that created Microsoft Outlook.

Its spellcheck and a dictionary right there for me at all times.

Looks like there are some engineers who make spelling and grammar their forte...or 'fort', apparently.

Around 10 years ago I was an intern at The Sporting News and by the end of the summer they began working on their preseaon college basketball picks. I was chosen to give my opinions on the matter though I had zero qualifying me to do so other than being a college student. So a bunch of us sit a round a conference table with the head basketball writer on speaker phone and we hash out a top 25 over a 2 hour period (I was givena fewdays notice to come up with my own Top 25 for the meeting). Needless to say it wasn't really that hard to do and ours wasn't vastly different from the ESPN and USA Today preseaon rankings either. I stuck up for State a couple of times in the meeting, if I remember correctly.

behind the spell check. At least they are checking the engineers check.

I often only have won dollar in my wallet, and i often feel like i have one a contest. so i definitely no its not this engineer behind it.

One of my favorite parts is the "star rating" given to coaching staffs around the major conferences/teams. On a scale of 1-5 you have to search pretty hard to find any staff who does not get four stars. I don't think anyone in the SEC gets less than 4 stars.
