but i didnt cash out at the end of last year.....had a bad bowl season, and my balance was below $200, so I just left mine in there for this season, but the year before that I think my check came from somewhere in the islands.....I do know sportsbook.com had a lot of changes last year, so things could be a bit different.....

but what is the best way to get money into a sportsbook account? Are there any problems transfering funds from any of the banks?

sportsbook had some changes last year that caught me off guard.....first off, I have never, ever used a bank transfer from my bank, and never will....an offshore betting site is the last place I would give me bank account info to.....I used to use my credit card....but that changed last year....I only have 2, an AMEX, and a MC when I cant use my AMEX....and last year sportsbook went only Visa....which was a pain in the ***, because I dont have one.....I purchased a couple of Visa gift cards from walgreens and loaded them on my account....the downside to that is, you have to pay the activation fee for those cards, but you can usually recoup that money with "reload bonuses".....if you go that route with the visa gift cards, make sure you purchase the ones that are "accepted anywhere visa is accepted worldwide"....i.e....read the fine print, because most of them are US only.....made that mistake....

i havent even logged into my sportsbook account since march, so maybe they have changed something with their credit card info.....

one more tidbit, as much of a problem as all this sounds, I have several friends and relatives who have used other sites, and sportsbook is still by far the best one for info, and gambling.....i swear i want to switch sites all the time, only to find out the others cant give you what I think you need to bet effectively online....IMO....

hope this helps

I've always used my Visa credit card. So I've never had any of the problems Beretta mentions.

He is correct about the info. I've looked at other sites and I feel Sportsbook has the best...I can't tell you the anticipation I have each week waiting for their football packet to be posted on the site.

I got on there a few weeks back to cash out some winnings from last year but didn't look at anything else. I left about $200 in my account, I wonder if I'll be able to place bets this year. I can't check now at work but I can when I'm at home...need to look into this.</p>

I've never had any problems with them, and they have good matching deals and other offers frequently. I haven't deposited money there in five years either, but I assume it works. I've been playing off the same $100 I deposited when I signed up five years ago. I got a 100% betting match (money I could bet but not cash out, etc) and went on a hot streak, never had to deposit since. Though I have watched as I turned $2 into $2,000 through blackjack, then back down to $100 in about three hours.

Most sports book use an agent that pays outside of the US. The only thing is that the Bank will usually hold the funds until the check clears. This is usually a day or two. I use Bookmaker.Com, now bmaker.ag after the US seized the original domain. I have used them for aseveral years. They take all cards and payout quickly. They alsotake western union if you are worried about your bank seeing what you are doing. If you do choose them let me know, and we both get referral bonuses. Dont send yourmoney anywhere before you look at http://www.sportsbookreview.com/ for ratings. They will keep you up-to-date with the latest issues regarding different books. You will notice that Bookmaker is shown as an A+. I have used several on the A+ list, if you have any questions, fire away.

Also, if I had money with sportsbook.com, I would be trying to get that money ASAP, and getting it moved after reading about some of their ongoing issues.

Now, that can be offset by losses, but you're supposed to report every dollar you make.

That said, they ain't sending out 1099s or anything.

If you use a Visa that you add money to don't loose the card because if you get ready to withdraw they will want the card number, Drivers License Number, proof, etc. Way to much info for me to give out.

People have to remember, most of the time the only people that complain are the people that are having a problem. They could be trying to use a card they have not authenticated, dont have rights to, have not met the bonus rollover requirements, etc. etc etc. I play football, basketball, and somebaseball. I send money, and get payouts all through the year pending if I need money to buy something or not. Every single time that I have ever requested a payout I have received it. They sendpayouts via Fed Ex 2 day Air. They will also do Western Union etc. (They have free payouts once a month. If you need them more than that then you have to pay, or can use your "points" for a free payout. They try to keep people from putting money in and taking it out on a weekly basis to keep their total transactions down. This also keeps their check processors, and the Western Union people less busy so they can process the payouts faster) The books that have A+ do not have payout problems. If they you have payout problems you can email sportsbookreview and they will take care of it for you (you wont have problems) The books that are rated A+ are rated that for a reason.

I wouldnt play at sportsbook.com with your money. The whole point of sports wagering is fun, money, or whatever. I would hate to win big one week and then spend the next month trying to figure out if I was goingto get paid or not...

Again, ifanyone has anymore questions please let me know. I am not sureif Ishould be happy that I have a lot of knowledge in this area or not...

is considered income and is supposed to be reported, regardless of the legality of the wager. Youdeduct your losses up toyour gross winnings though. You're not going to get a 1099 on it, so really the only realistic way the government could get wind of it would be through your wire transfers.

After this thread I'm not so sold on sportsbook.com. I know it's a big of a thread hijack but does anybody else use another website that they prefer? This might be my first season using an online website so I'm checking all my options.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

and after seeing sportsbook.com wont take anymore US customers, and their reviews on SBR.com, I am in the market for a new sportsbook.....so, last night I spent 3hours researching good online books, and I have narrowed it to 3 in this order: 5 dimes, bookmaker, and legends.....

take your pick.....

You are fine.Sportsbook.com, like many sportsbooks out there are no longer acceptingnew customers from the USA.They are one of the bigger books out there and Ireally likesportsbook.com b/c i love all the props they have. They already have college football season win totals up along with college footballgames of the year.

I'm going back to bodog and betus.com. Bodog paid out just fine a couple years ago. They have a colorful and easy site to use. The only thing I don't like about them is they are a little later in the week getting out the college football lines, and their live picking is goofy--instead of just giving new regular lines during the game, they put out picks like "will the next play be a run or a completed pass?". <div>
</div><div>Betus has good live picking, and I don't remember having any payout problems. I always wanted to do everything on the computer and not have to talk to a customer rep on the phone, but I had to last night. Turns out it really makes things easier. Call betus at their toll free number, then use extension x2711 or ask for Marshall. Gives some good signup/renewal bonuses and everything goes smoothly. </div>

A couple of items.

If you dont mind getting a horrible line, go with Bodog. They stick it to you on juice on big games. They dont move the lines where they are supposed to be, and play the juice game. If the line is -2, and Bodog has -3 +130, I would rather have the -2 (or +3 -150, etc). Bodog also doesnt allow you to buy points where other books do. In certain situations I would rather go from -7.5 to -6.5, and have that option.

I used Legendz for a while. My only problem with them was I never could understand the individuals on the phone. Something else to look at is if they have a mobile site. For instance Bookmaker is m.bmaker.ag. Let me tell you, if you are in the Junction trying to get a game in, you want a mobile sight in order to try and get it to go through. I for one get a lot of my stuff in way early on Saturday morning, but if I get information on something I am going to need to put it in during the day. Maybe with the new ATT tower this will not be a problem like it has been in the past.

Again, do your research. It should be an enjoyable experience, not one that takes a lot of effort to get money back and forth.

and had almost decided on 5dimes from all the reviews. Glad to see you found the same things. I would go to bodog.com but them putting their lines out so late in the week would drive me crazy. It's more fun to look at something on Monday and jump on it or also have the option to watch the line move.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

After doing all the research, everywhere I turned I found just as many negatives on a site, as much as the positives....I went and started a thread on the cappers forum, and I got some good responses, everyone agreed 5dimes all around is what they liked, some liked one I have looked at though, pinnacle.....but for the most part, they said exactly what I found, legends, 5dimes....

I was a little weary about bookmaker.....the site looks great...probably best looking one out there, but every write up on the them was slow payers, and will stick it to you in fees for cashing out....i typically only cash out when Im way up, or at the end of the super bowl.....I just dont want to have to jump thru hoops to get paid....

legends site looks good, could be a little bit more detailed for me though (which is what I loved about sportsbook.com)....I like power ratings and stats, etc....The negative about legends that I read was that if you really start winning, they will shut you down......that's kinda bush league if you ask me.....but again, there are pros and cons to every site, i guess you just have to find out for yourself...

as for sportsbook.com, I didnt realize the site was having issues.....i havent logged in since march.....after meddawgs comments, I went and logged in...I did the live chat with a representative, and they told me they were indeed not accepting new US customers, but I was ok since I had a current account.....well, that is a red flag for me!....so i got to looking at SBR, and the reviews....and ill be damned if they are close to being blacklisted........

I am now officially in for a new online book because of this thread, and right now I am leaning towards 5dimes, but I havent fully decided yet.....5dimes, legends, or bookmaker ...

thanks

Another favorite of mine was "world sports exchange". Maybe my most favorite of all of them. They call their picks 'contracts'--the contract part may get around legalities as officially you are buying/selling contracts and not making bets. Even so, it works just like any other site and their format may even make it easier to use than most sites. <div>
</div><div>World Sports Exchange was my favorite because they came out with lines earlier than most and didn't have a maximum dollar amount per pick. Always prompt payouts. They did have live picking, but it was backwards--the line stayed the same but the price got cheaper/more expensive based on the scoring during the game. The only problem--their website is www.wsex.com, which may raise some eyebrows. Still, worth checking out.</div>

I have never paid one penny to Bookmaker to receive a payout. Bodog just made me mad back in the day. I really hate when they dont put the game out until 3 hours before it kicks. This is the only time of year these threads are really on here. Everyone gets excited and starts sending money to different countries. Not much is more american than that..

With Bookmaker you can also get lines on teams playing a FCS team. Its usually ridiculous. I think we were favored by 55 last year.

I started using sportsbook.com 6-9 months ago, because I saw how high their ratings were at that time. I've put small deposits in, mostly just played off what I've won. Yesterday I finally had a big win and requested a withdrawal for the first time. Then I read about all the negative reviews, that just weren't there when I started with sportsbook. Now I'm wondering if I'll get my money too. Another poster here said they have had no problems. I hope you don't mind me asking. Did you get a recent payment and did it take you long to get it?

I feel like an idiot. You already said it took about ten days for you to get a payment through bank wire. That's not bad. I used that method too.
