Translation: Nick James has his **** more together than Quay. Hope these guys get straight. Way too much talent not to.

Interesting to see Cox already with the starting nod. Love was serviceable last year, so if Justin can make an impact our drop at CB won't be as bad as I feared.

Has Beckwith been awarded a scholarship yet?

I know he was a walkon for at least 2 years.

If he manages to avoid being an academic casualty or a victim of moultrie knee at some point in his career, I will be shocked.

lot of 4th year jr on this squad

the are saying we are a young team because of lack of seniors.

2 4yr seniors
6 5thYr seniors
3 2yr seniors
------------

2 1stYr jr
3 3rdyr jr
18 4thYr jr

*After next year, the redshirting phase is establish and completed on a 4year window

That would be a huge disappointment. The mentality baffles me.

You are three years away from millions and you cant get your **** together for three 17ing years. Three years of work and you put yourself in a position to never have to work again after football (or basketball, whatever). Its a shame how often this story plays out.

Where are you counting Eulls? THey have him listed as a Soph but pretty sure he is a JR.

The lack unproven talent at wr concerns me. Morrow is listed as a starter and has done nothing but show us he isn't ready. Glad to see cox at cb, didn't know why many on here thought he would be at safety. Also didn't realize that Justin Senior did not redshirt. Why in the world did we play him last year?

Is Autry really just a JR in terms of eligibility?

Also, unless I missed someone, our entire 2-deep receiving corp(including TEs) caught 47 passes last year. I realize that we lost a lot of starters on that front, but that is worrisome to say the least

A two deep that was bad last year and needs somebody to make a pretty big jump in order for us to be ok on defense. I was hoping it would be Quay that did that, so him not being on the two deep even for the spring, concerns me.

Neither brown at lb. Bet you see both there this fall.

I think they will play- no chance they start unless we get an injury

McKinney and Skinner will be outstanding at Mike and Sam LB

It's only a 2 deep so him not being on it is not a concern...for now.

Quay is supposedly in awesome shape right now. Said he has totally transformed his body since he stepped on campus last year.

DS is right- nothing to be concerned with now. It's how they exit Spring practice

...Same with Perkins. You cannot look at this and determine future eligibility. The comments about how many senior starters we have are definitely wrong.

I have Eulls as a JR.

Other mistakes I saw was Autry is a SR, and maybe hughes, not sure about hughes off top of my head, but i did notice 3 mistakes.

4th year JR
Griffin; RoJo, Lewis; MJohnson; Hill; Clausell; Muniz; Robinson; Day; Lawson; Eulls; Virges; Bohanna; Holmes; Wells; Hughes; Love;
guess you could count Reed Gordon

Depth Chart

Cox at CB helps us (1) hid deficiencies deeper in the secondary and (2) sets up for a Love - Jiles showdown.

If HailState.com can't get the eligibility right, can we expect any greater accuracy on the depth chart?

Why would Preston declare early? I've seen nothing from him that makes me think

he's even remotely ready for the NFL. Maybe I'm missing something but he wasn't that impressive last year.

I saw Quay on campus just a couple weeks ago, he definitely looked slimmer. He tends to nap on the little couches in the hallways of McCool, so I assume Balis had been doing his job in the mornings.

Don't forget Michael Carr is (allegedly) returning. If he wants to play and the staff is willing to give him another go, the dude can play.

After a redshirt and two seasons he is still classified as a sophmore?

and can still play?

I'm guessing that you could take just enough hours to make you a full time student but not accumulate enough to achieve classification as a junior. (How many do you need to take to be academically eligible? I assume you just need to be a full time student with the minimum GPA.) For example, if you took 12 hours for four semesters, entering your fifth semester of school you would technically still be a sophomore, as you need 60 to be a junior.

Or it could be a mistake.
