Do we know if Ohio St, GA, or Bama charged for their spring game tickets? If not, that makes our spring game even better.

I believe Ohio State charged $5 per ticket (students were free)

Alabama and Georgia did not charge any admission

Pretty incredible attendance for OSU. I don't recall them ever being above 70k before.

They had 99,391 last year, which then set the national attendance record. Urban was pushing his fans to surpass 100,000 this year.......and, obviously, they did.

So much for my memory. Quite impressive.

Anyone see Central Florida made the list? Seriously. 0-11 team and they rank 18th in the country the following spring. Clearly Frost picked the right spot so far.

Frost had people excited but with that he has raised expectations. Hope he doesn't fall flat.

Pretty lousy for Michigan

Michigan had their spring game on a Friday at 6PM. A lot of people couldn't make it from out of town. If they had it on a Saturday with nice weather they probably would have been in the 65-70k range this year.

The numbers make more sense now... Why would Michigan do a Friday night?

What do you mean? Like a winning season in year one? Obviously we don't even expect that a blue blood like Nebraska (that's sarcasm....slightly)

Our coach isn't going anywhere (hopefully for a long time). Even if we repeated last year, he'd still get another yr minimum. My point is no need to even speak of other coaches...

I think Harbaugh wanted it on April 1st which is the birthday of both Bo Schembechler and Bob Ufer (Michigan's legendary radio announcer). Not a great idea if you ask me. I know I was stuck working on month-end close and ended up not making it even though I live only 10 minutes from the stadium.

We also start our spring practice really early so the weather our spring game is usually not ideal. They want to have spring practice wrapped up in early April so the players can focus on studying for finals which are usually the second and third weeks in April.

Why inject Riley?

For me I want Frost to have great results in Florida and I believe he will. UCF is about where FSU was when Bowden took them to the top of the heap and I think it would be fantastic if Frost does the same for UCF.

OSU charges $5, Bama is free.

Georgia is artificially inflated heavily, not only was it free, they held a Ludicris concert prior to the game. In 2014 and 2015 Georgia drew right around 46,000.

There was about a 15 minute concert by Ludicris before the game but the 93K isn't an inflated number. 2-3k were standing in each end that is normally empty, estimated to be 97K+ attended the game.

You're right timmy...more average than good. My bad.

Expectations...that's old school. We're done with that stuff these days...ain't nobody got time for that anymore 'round here. It's all about not today, likely not tomorrow, but hopefully after that...

Frost name is only brought up for one reason (and it's not b/c we have a bunch of die hard UCF fans here).

Guess you missed the point then... if, when we are at capacity, we are still lower than two other schools, even the 95 husker squad would come in third for spring game attendance.

And Frost's name is brought up because he is a former husker. I always root for former huskers to do well. I have rooted for Solich for years at Ohio, pulled for Bohl at NDSU, TG at Buffalo, Kansas and Liberty. The only one that I haven't rooted for is Pelini at Youngstown State. You don't have to be a fan of other teams... You can be fans of specific individuals as well.

I am not pining for Solich to return, or Bohl or Gill either. Bringing up their names doesn't mean the only reason anyone is talking about them is because we want them here. If Frost comes to Nebraska eventually, I hope he does well. But that isn't the only reason people bring up his name.

Just seems like a fair bit of trolling for you, that's all.

Nope, just stating my opinion...I do understand how attendance works (and trolling). I also get how fans like former players. I like Scott Frost but him being mentioned here isn't about good wishes (but more analogous with "talking about the backup qb" fascination). Not needed...current guy isn't going anywhere.

The new Georgia coach made a special plea to fans to attend, he choked up at the PC afterwards. I thought jeez is he going to be like this all year.

UCF grew from 35k students in 2000 to 63k this year, with 70k expectations by 2020 - in a football crazed state. The place is a sleeping giant if he can get them to play decent ball. Young UCF fans will (continue) to show up if Frost and co. give them a reason to.
