Ware is going to have a big year. He is going to be making big plays all season. I really liked what I saw out of Jones too. He is going to make a lot of plays. Allen seemed to be on a lot of tackles too.

Don't forget Kengera Daniel too. He was around the ball numerous times. Saw nothing however out of Alvonte Bell.

Tennessee fans were extremely excited about a special announcement during their spring game. The content of the announcement was kept a secret all week long. There were a lot of speculations, including Fulmer becoming a part of the program in some fashion and Peyton Manning possibly becoming the QBs coach. The announcement was that they will have permanent captains this season. A lot of disappointment in that announcement. Kind of makes me chuckle.

How did Laster play? Thought I would hear his name as an unstoppable force. Is that because defense was vanilla?

After seeing the schedule they put up, i expect 6 wins.
The three non power 5 schools, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina. We should win those games. We can beat Lewisville Community College, whether we do or not, who knows.
Not winning at least 6 would hurt.

I think it would ultimately doom Stoops's tenure here, following last season's collapse. Whatever the reason for it was, closing the season the way we did, after the fan base got so hyped, was devastating. Following that up with yet another disappointing season could cost him the fans' support entirely.

Given the way the schedule sets up, we could easily lose 3 of our last 4 (UGA, UT, UL). If we get to the Austin Peay game with 4 or 5 wins, then ending the year 1-3 in the month of November will definitely be a downer unless we lose those 3 very close. At that point we may limp into a bowl at 6-6. It won't cost Stoops his tenure to do that, but it will definitely have some folks grumbling. Anything more he is safe and sound. Anything less and he's sizzling like bacon.

Stoops's tenure isn't doomed here. Remember Barney gave him a contract extension and raise just prior to the collapse of his second season.

Just finished watching the Spring Game on the DVR. Not a fan of the running clock, but hey they gotta get these spring games done in 2 hours or less so the SEC Network can move on to the next one.

Stoops says he has about 30 guys who are ready. Need 60.

Ware looked good, but Leavitt and our OTs in pass protect are not a strength. Leavitt got a taste and now knows he needs to get in SEC shape. He will be better in the fall. Ware came on late in spring. Hopefully today have him confidence to work hard this summer to be consistently what this team needs him to be.

More importantly, in the Spring you don't have enough players to have sufficient depth to go any more plays. Smart not to go longer.
