Spring Game

Tenn just announced they are charging for their Spring Game, opening all sections of Neyland & having an on-campus music festival, and expecting a huge turnout. Proceeds go to “My All” initiative

Questions:
How does Admin gauge the interest in order to staff & supply our Spring Game since we are not charging?
Would you pay $5?
What do you think the turnout will be for our game?

Spring games are important - especially in recruiting. It was really fun last year. Don`t understand why some of our fans always dismiss it like it`s not important. If you can`t be there, fine. But if you can go - go! Only chance until the fall. Was worth going just to hear Patrick Davis(he will be there again) and to see Deebo playing catch with fans in the crowd. Looks like its important in Knoxville, based on the above. I`m sure Sanford Stadium will be full. If we can fill up Willy B. for every home game, we should at least have a good turnout. I will see some of you there! I would pay $5 easily but even that would keep some people from going - let`s keep it free until we start filling it up.

Wish things could be changed so they could scrimmage other teams in spring games. No harm in bringing in an FBS school.

I hope to go this year. Prefer free but I would pay $5-$10 for it to go towards NIL or the recruiting budget.

I don’t know of any school that sells out a spring game without a secondary draw like a concert. Only exception was after Alabama hired Saban in 2007.

With that said, I would love to see a good concert tied in with our Spring game. The fireworks last year was a nice touch too.

I usually need it to be free to attend but definitely wouldn’t go for more than $10. It might be cheap for one person but adds up quick if your bringing a group

It seems to me a nominal fee of $5 or so wouldn't stop any fan from going who was already planning to do so. However, charging for a glorified scrimmage probably isn't a great hill to die on.

I have no interest in going to the spring game, free or otherwise. There's nothing that would make me interested in doing so. I went once as a student during the Spurrier years and left at halftime, and I'll never go to another one.

Lol…true. Can you imagine if you brought in Furman for your spring game and lost. It would not breed much hope for the coming season.

It's like a tax or toll. Once introduced it will spiral due to rising costs.
