Will Cameron Lawrence get a strong look to play quarterback or will he start out with defense and play safety and possibly grow into a linebacker.

If I am correct I believe he was quite an impressive quarterback in high school, I also understand he is somewhat of a headhunter and has a pretty nasty meanstreak.

I'll buy this.

Buy, since Mullen already said he will get a look at QB. Im surprised we are giving him a look though. I dont think thats where he needs to be, because I think he can help out on the defensive side maybe as an OLB or a SS instead of at QB. Tyler Russell is our future guy, and I doubt many people on here would rather have Cameron instead of Russell at QB. Let Cameron backup at SS and maybe even start a few, then put some weight on him and move him to OLB.

I'm thinking that the main reason that he is getting a look right now is because we have Lee and Relf and that's it.

and I don't care who he plays, starts or what ever. I am sick and tired of loosing and he should do what ever it takes to win.

Watch him throw the ball and you will know the answer. He has a strong arm but no clue where it's going. He could be an asset running the ball in the wild_______ formation but that's about it. He would also be valuable on defense because he can hit and likes contact. Last year he knocked 2 or 3 the kids out.

He could turn out to be a good asset on either side of the ball cause of his size and apparent athletic ability, but saying he was good in high school doesn't mean anything. In my opinion academy football doesn't count. Really it's just too much like backyard ball. Hopefully he'll pan out though, we definitely need dome depth on the defensive side of the ball, TR should help us at QB once we make it out of spring. My concern is will robert elliot ever take a snap again?

Which is why the MPSA has a winning record over the MHSAA the last few years they have been allowed to play each other.

What?? you mean to tell me that you think that practially all MPSA teams could have beat Okolona when Robert Elliot was there? The same Okolona that played present day 2A champs (and then Region 1 2A champ) Baldwyn 2 close games Robert's senior year? That Okolona??

I understand the smaller school argument with regard to low talent levels, but no argument in the world can change my mind that a private school can match up with public schools, although when I played against Yazoo in high school and beat them by 70, anyone could've beat that team.

sorry, no not all MPSA teams obviously. I would say most 3a MPSA teams, including Cameron Lawerences Mag. Heights team. If you had ever seen them play you would know where I am coming from. Too much is made up of private vs public, its football.

all of those schools have a larger enrollment opposed to Prep. Most private schools would fit in 2a and down levels for public school system (excluding a couple like ja and prep which would be 4a)

...Cam Lawrence was promised a look at QB this spring. He played QB as a sophomore and junior at Magnolia Heights, then RB his senior year. If you watch his highlight films, available on most major message boards like Rivals, Scout, and BDJ, you will understand he may be being tested as a short yardage and goal line QB. He is an awful passer, but you never know, ugly ducklings could turn into swans on swan lake given the right coaching and a little PR spin.

I saw him before the SELA game at the Dawg Walk. He would have to put on a lot of weight to ever play LB in the SEC. I would say his actual size is 5"11 (maybe 6'0") 170lbs.
