HS jumps out to a quick 9-0 lead 2 minutes into the game. Varina steps in front of a HS pass and raced about 60-70 yards for a td to make the score 9-7 aT the end of 1st quarter. When the 2nd quarter started.... HS blistered the Devils with 39 unanswered points in the quarter to take a 48-7 halftime lead. HS got the ball first in the 3rd quarter and marched down the field to make it 55-7 with about 9 minutes left in the 3rd.
From that point, the dogs were called off and The Springer defense had shut out the Devils offense (with the only Varina score a defensive one). Varina just couldn't move the ball against HS's starters.
Maybe next year for the very young Devils, but this year.... the Springers are VERY DANGEROUS!
