Does anyone have any info on St. Charles North? Are they as good as their 8-1 record? From what I can see they have averaged 42 points per game, and held teams just above scoreless, except for two very highly ranked teams. Are they really that good, or was their competition poor?

From what I read they're big, fast and prepared for a deep run in 7A. They have several key returning starters that are being recruited at a pretty high level (TE, 2x OL).

8-1 record seems validated.

This looks to be a bad match-up for the Corsairs after all.

Thanks----that's what it looked like to me as well. They barely lost to SCE who is a highly ranked team and beat perennial power, Batavia.

They are well coached and will not allow a lot of points. Carmel is in trouble. And agree with above they are quite large up front

SCN is a great team.. Beat a very good Batavia team and blew a 2 score lead vs 9-0 8A STC East.. Big OL, Great QB, Great Defense, 6-6 WR/TE Colorado State Commit Griffin Hammer is the real deal.. Team that could make a deep run.

QB and tailback are both smart, tough, and fast. WR Hammer is a big target and they know how to get him the ball. #77 and #71 are excellent high school linemen. They are a solid team and will be a tough out. They hammered the weaker teams on their schedule and showed very well against a solid 8A team in STC east and also Batavia although the Bulldogs did put up some points on them.

No doubt they have the personnel to make a nice run in the playoffs. However, they've only played 2 playoff teams going 1-1 vs them. I'm a little concerned that they're not battle tested like some of these other teams that have been through the wars over the past couple of years. I don't want to assume they win Round 1, but if they do they'll have their hands full with Auburn or St Rita no doubt. On the other hand if the bracket plays to their advantage I could see them in the semifinals.

Good luck either way.

I've seen some video on them since my earlier post this week. They're good, but certainly not 'great' as described above.

This is a better match-up for CCHS than expected.

The DC is former MS DC Rick Magsamen which explains why their defense is so good.

The North Stars run the 3-4 and looks like they stick with it against the TO. There's a reason why the SA's run this same defense!

I see some flashes of a good defensive approach in video I've watched of StCN against Cary-Grove and StCE.
