53-7 Final from Aurora...sloppy game by MA loads of turnovers and penalties and SF capitalized. The biggest question I had going in to this season for SF was would they be able to match the offensive production of last years team given how many guys graduated at the skill positions (Bobowski especially). SF looked great tonight in all three phases and man can Fassnacht spin the football.

Huge victory for SF tonight to set the tone for the rest of the season.

And the reward...Rice, ouch.....

True that Rice will be extremely tough but if SF plays them close it keeps the momentum built in a game like tonight going. Last year's Rice game was when the light clicked for the team and they ran the table until the 6A semis. I'll be curious to see how they come off this performance into BR next week

St. Francis can beat Rice. They came so close to it last year. It's fun to see the old Suburban Catholic Conference teams from the burbs get some wins against the smash mouth larger enrollment Chicago Catholic teams in the city now that both are in the CCL. Only a few years ago dating back to the existence of football nobody thought this was possible.

I wish Driscoll were still around and in the mix.

Just imagine....Montini could have the opportunity to prove that five weeks out of the year, if they joined the Blue.

pjjp,

No like I said Montini's enrollment too small compared to the others in the CCL Blue. Montini would need to increase it's enrollment levels at least 30% before considering this. If they have a few less talented classes in a row, they would be in deep trouble.

Why don't the CCL Blue teams move up in enrollment and invite St. Xavier College to the conference?
