St.Johns is a preseason top 25 i do believe. I'm a KP guy however i'm done arguing for him . Because those fans against have a mindset that will move the goal post against every time. My thought is and has not changed just give him a fair chance .He doesn't get it done he knows himself he will be out plain and simple they don't even want to give him that . Which is a another story in it's own!
The the thing about KP, at least for me, is there shouldn't be any expectation that he will be a good head coach. There's nothing in his past that suggests he would be effective even at a mid major school.
He was a recruiter first and foremost at UK and only got this gig because he's a former player. With all of this, he would need his first team to be an experienced and talented bunch. Instead, he had the weakest roster in Cards history.
So we got what we got last season. This season it appears the talent is much improved and there's some experience, but it's the kind of roster that needs an excellent head coach to overachieve and bring the program back to where it belongs.

Move the goal post against? There has to be a positive in order for detractors to push against in the first place. I've seen better offense from strangers playing together at Seneca park. His playbook is non-existent. We can all see we have better players this year but with the same results as last. Only one common denominator and that's the coach. At the very least Josh needs to start making his list now and be ready to go when the last part of this ship slips under the water.
What goalposts are you talking about FFS? The only criteria is to be competitive and win at a level at or close to what a historically top 10 program has done for the last 40 years. You have deluded yourself into believing that Payne’s race is working against him which is ABSURD. If Mack had gone 4-28 in his first season, everyone here would be calling for his firing as well.
I think I will pass on questioning Rick Pitino and his basketball teams; any effort to compare RP with KP is an insult to Rick.
