Haven't seen this mentioned on here yet but last year a friend of mine
started an event called Staches for Stewpot. During the month of
February guys around Jackson grow mustaches and take pledges from
friends to wear them (and look like an idiot at work) the whole month
with the pledge proceeds going to Stewpot Ministries to help feed those
less fortunate.
Last year was a great success and this year is
looking even better with Patrick and Mary Kelly of Julep signing on to
help sponsor the organization and the culmination, a party at Julep next
Thursday, February 24th at 9 PM. All proceeds will go to Stewpot
Ministries. If you're so inclined, grow a mustache or simply show up and
have a good time and help support this great organization.
