I can answer 1 for you......it's a grass field.
My wife and I stopped at a Hardee's on our way to the Union/ Richlands game, but it was over in Norton Va, I have no idea if there are any fast food places actually in BSG.
Norton is about 12 or so miles from BSG.
As far as Hotels, I know there are a couple over in the Norton /Wise area, but not sure about actually in BSG.
Maybe someone from Union will get on here & help you.
I'll keep checking on here and if nobody helps you in a day or so, I will ask a couple of guys I converse with from Union on another football site.

Hardee's is beside Food City in town.
BK is down the bypass about a mile.
No 'name' hotels - took a friend down to MECC for her nursing exam a few years ago and we stayed in Wise.
There's also some 'name' hotel in Norton - used to have a lounge/nightclub I went to YEARS ago.

As a native of this town here is the 411.

Bullitt Park is on the other side of town from the school. A lot of history with former Powell Valley there. Concrete home side. Pretty wide but not the most amount of rows. Visiting side is ok but not that great. Bermuda grass field.

Comfort Inn is an ok facility. A little expensive.

Big Stone Gap has a Subway, Hardee's, McDonalds, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, and KFC. The locally owned restaurants are Flipping Egg, Little Mexico, Pizza King (delivery and carry out only), Pizza Plus (local to SWVA, East Ky and East Tn), Dairy Delight, Red Flower Chinese. Most of the locally owned restaurants are right in town. Flipping Egg is right next to Comfort Inn and Little Mexico is up at the Walmart shopping center.

Ah. I was wondering lol. I knew I had ate there many, many times after my band had played The Edge down in BSG.
Used to go to the Edge a lot as a high school kid. The current owner and her late husband ran it together. She is a good person.

Back on topic, there are good local places to eat here.

Only warning about the stadium would be the people at the gate. They love to give trouble about leaving and re-entering after halftime.

Most schools are like that. they do not allow anyone to leave, unless they repay.

I was at a game recently and had to go to vehicle at halftime to get "some equipment" I needed in 2nd half. The woman at gate asked me if I was leaving, I explained I had to go get headphones from vehicle. She said I would have to pay to re-enter. I informed her that did not matter, in that I had a Pass . That really made her mad. She said , "well you're not supposed to leave".

I remember it being a long drive from Pearisburg when Giles played Powell Valley there years ago. Thomas Jones was a Sr. He hit the hole quicker than any back I ever saw. A man among boys that day. There was some footage from that game on Ch 7 FFE this past Friday night.

Throw Devon Johnson in there for the men among boys category. Didn't get the pleasure of seeing the Jones brothers. But I saw Bradshaw and Johnson. Two of the best out of SWVA.
