Anyone else notice that the Seal Club building looks to be losing the ramps. Is that part of the plan or just artistic liberties by the design company?

Mullen and Stricklin want the opponents to walk out and fall 20 feet

Slive would have banned that practice relatively soon though

Hope you like day games.

Seriously, though, what will be the purpose of the building portion of the expansion?

Doubt the ramps will be completely gone, but I bet we will have new locker room under the new expansion. Old locker room will be new vistor's. This is a guess and not a very educated one at that.

At first I thought that the building was primarily going to be additional luxury seating and skyboxes, but it looks like there's a pretty big portion of it that doesn't have much of a view of the field. I'm wondering if it's supposed to be office space, dining areas, or something else. Whatever the case, it looks like it's supposed to be the focal point of the stadium so it seems like there would be some amenities geared towards the fans. Some sort of MSU football history/memorabilia room would be pretty cool.

How do you like the new endzone exterior being aligned with the street instead of the stadium? Has a crooked look to it.

I have inside knowledge and a source on this. Trust me. The plan is for us to keep our current locker room and for the opponents to take a the new locker in the north end. The point of this is to keep the opposing teams fans out of the Junction. By making the other team enter from the North side, the opposing fans are more likely to set up tailgate on that side.

Therefore, it is very likely that the ramps would be removed since they would no longer be needed.

That is indeed a state of Mississippi under the North side of the stadium. The point is to pay homage to all the counties in the state. The engraved state of Mississippi will have every MS country labled inside of it, and therefore further establish this as OUR STATE and the University in Mississippi that most represents the state.

I don't think it will be as noticeable in real life. We're looking at it from a birds point of view here so it looks strange. But realistically it will be such a big building you won't pay much attention to it. It will be obvious, but just notlook as strange as when you're looking from above.

Now the crooked jumbotron sitting on top --- that will look out of place. But I expect that's a lot further off in the future and might get scrapped before it's all said & done with. I like the idea someone mentioned last week with smaller screens in the corners. Or maybe they somehow try to hide the fact that it's not parallel with the building.</p>

a problem serious enough to set things up this way? The junction appears to be packed with tents within one hour of the official time to set them up on the day prior to the games.

I have always liked it when fans from other schools are willing to set up shop right in the middle of everything. Tailgating to me is more fun with them around. I don't like that it sometimes leads to a few jerks fighting but that really isn't the norm in my opinion.

Also means drunk students are less likely to harrass opposing players & parents whileexiting the locker rooms & boarding buses. Wasn't there a big deal made of that after the egg bowl?

I want our football stadium to be a shrine to the state of Mississippi. Along with sports memorabilia and MSU football greats, I want there to be an emphasis on the history of our state. We are the University that works for the betterment of the state in everything we do. Why not include this concept into the expansion of David Wade.

The designs utilized these days for large sporting venues are so asymmetrical and odd-angled anyway, so I believe it will look fine. Now, they do need to lose that jumbotron on top of the building. That is way out of place and completely destroys the aesthetics of the architecture.

I think the idea of making this stadium expansion a shrine to the State of Mississippi was very much taken into consideration. That is why the Mississippi County Plaza was added. The idea came from what Minnesota did with there new stadium. They put county names above all the stadium entrances. Essentially the idea was to make it known that this is Mississippi's stadium, where kids from Mississippi play.

As far where the student section will be located, I have heard nothing for sure on that front, but IMO it make all the sense in the world to put the students in the new endzone, thus creating more side view seats to sell, and creating a very intimidating and loud student north endzone.

It was actually the student entrance gate rather than the junction itself, but close enough - a big mess of auburn fans gathered up to do some retarded tiger circle jerk, and blocked hundreds of students from getting through. My friends and I had to force our way through, including a having an auburn fan (a grown *** man at that) try to take away my friend's cowbell. Blood was very nearly spilled.

we just boiled 30 lbs of shrimp, potatoes, corn, mushrooms, asparagus and sausage. So I'm good on shrimp.

we have a winner. State's new locker room will be in the new north end zone. our current rooms in the Seal building will become visitors locker room. I believe this will give visiting teams some of the ncest locker rooms in the SEC.
