I know we are currently in the works for a new HD scoreboard for baseball and a practice facility for basketball. Anybody have any info or discussion on what and when will be upgraded next? I guess the next two no brainers are to upgrade the inside of the football stadium (bathrooms, west side) and bowl in the north endzone and continue the chairbacks/suites at dudy noble to the foul poles. Is there even talk of these happening in the next several years?

to bring suites and club level to the west side. i heard during football season that several architect firms were working on designs and bids, and that it will probably be done in the next 2-3 years.

I guess my question is will we just gut out the press box area and make them into club level/suites? Or will we demolish the whole upper deck part and make it symetrical to the East Side? Common sense says the former, but I have heard Greg wants the stadium to be the same on both sides of the field.

This would be hard to do in a year's time, but I would like to implode the whole west side and build fresh and closer to the field. Do this with intent to tie in a bowl on the north end. Again, I doubt this ever happening, but it is what's needed.

I've been told that the top two projects for Byrne, and they're really 1A and 1B, are the basketball IPF and converting the 100s and 200s at DW to a club level.

I also feel that the seats are too far from the field. We need to take a page for Ohio States' playbook and dig our field out about 20 feet and build the stands lower</p>

we bowled in the North endzone, and once those seats were ready, imploded the West side stands immediately at the end of the season, and starting on new West stands. To give ourselves a little extra time, we could schedule only FCS/bad FBS teams for the first 2-3 weeks where just the East side and North side would be enough, or road games, and then unveiled the grand new West side stands in a big SEC game (like LSU 2011 or something). This could fail miserably if there was a lot of bad weather and we had to go a whole season with just the East side and endzone seats, but it could be a way to get a much nicer stadium, and also get some good press.

due to the limited number of seats. Which in turn would generate more revenue quickly to help in building the new west side.

from the horse's mouth. i would assume that would include gutting the pressbox area, and the new plan would have a press area somewhere. it would be difficult to leave the pressbox in the best place for skyboxes - the 50 yd line. new pro stadiums have the press boxes there, but at the tops of the upper decks.

imploding the west side would be a disaster. i don't think renovating the upper deck would be worth the money. i'd rather leave the rest as is and prepare for a lower bowl (and maybe more club/suites) on the north end.

I don't think you'd have to implode the entire west side, just remove the west upper deck and rebuild it to match the east.

it may not support a renovation of the 200s, and if so, it may have to come down as part of that project.

Ive been told there is nothing on the drawing board regarding "bowling in" one of the end zones. That comes from the top cigar. May God rest his soul.

in the midst of all this gutting of the press box where will hank flick, jim ellis, jack and the rest of our distinguished play by play staff call home... will we move them to the endzone with the band?
