Staff and Retention thoughts

What does the board thing about the possibility of Dave Turner sticking around? He was the DL coach this year and actually I thought he deserved the DC position over Harbison before Harbison was promoted? What say ye? Any others you wouldn't mind seeing around?

I know that I want Reed Stringer gone.

after that, I'd like to see us focus on recruiting abilities with the other 7 coaches.

I've heard that some are already encouraging Mullen to try and get Cheese back as DC and to retain Melvin.

I wasn't saying to promote Turner, just that I think he's done a good job with the DL and would like to retain him. Melvin is iffy for me. He's a good recruiter, but hasn't awed me with his coaching ability. We definitely need a good OL coach/recruiter.

I'd like to see Turner retained. Maybe Washington. Maybe Louis Campbell. He did a good job w/LBs this year especially after Chaney went down.

I'd like to see Stan Drayton return to MSU w/ Mullen and Steve Campbell and Hudspeth get called up to the bigtime.

Edit: And Rocky should be retained in some capacity for recruiting purposes.

fire whoever he wants and hire whoever he wants. If he is responsible for winning, you can't weigh him down with road blocks like "this guy needs to stay." He picks who he wants. And there are no damn excuses.

Most definitely. It would be nice for Melvin to be retained. Sounds good for Turner.

Like someone said he needs to find good DC& OC and hire the rest for recruiting. Whatever happens let someone that knows what the hell they are doing handle special teams.
