It'll be very interesting to see what changes to staff Ash makes after this season. Have to imagine we'll see some.

We have played three top 5 teams and got crushed by them. Guess what? They've crushed everyone...it's why they are top 5 teams. How's Oregon doing against Washington? Stanford?
Am I annoyed? Sure. Was I expecting otherwise? Nope.
Can you guys step away from the keyboard and revisit this in 6 weeks?

bro we don't have a first down, and might give up 500 yards rushing tonight, a d3 team wouldn't do this....

So you find it acceptable not to register a first down in this game? You also find it acceptable to have a team where completing 4 passes is amazing?

Acceptable. No. understandable? Yes. You guys forget PSU had 5 yds offense in the first half against this team. That was with one of the best backs in the country. I don't think many of our fans really watch College football.

Can anyone remind how the offense did last year? How did it do without Carroo? Not well. So basically we are in the same place. How about we give mehringer (& co) some time to get some of their players. We have no athletes and the players we do have were recruited for the pro style and not spread.

Time.

you could throw the ball 15-20 yards down field 3 times on every series over 10 possessions (30 tries) and complete at least 5 of them. But no, let's run for 0-2 yards instead.

ZERO EFFORT

no you need to get a clue really. Not one thing this staff has done indicates they know what they are doing. They would be comedic if on any other team. What have they done, in any game really, that shows you they can adapt, recognize changes, can put the right kids in the right place to succeed, or even can be prepared for a game??????

then don't change the offense THIS year until you get the players on the field that can run your offense next year. Cause all we are doing is hand the ball off on first and second and dropping back on third. THAT AINT ANYTHING NEW HERE.

We have beaten the teams we should have. Lost to a team by 7 that's probably around our talent and got killed by 3 top 5 teams. Again, let's revisit this in 6 weeks.

So when do you change it? Next year with their first real class? So now 3 classes pro style and 1 spread? The following year when it is 2 and 2? No. You absolutely change now. Get the ball rolling now. Teach the system. Show recruits where they fit in.

Remind me, how did the old offense do last year without Carroo? So do you honestly think the end of game result would be any different? Maybe we would have 4 first downs.

I am not seeing the spread. that's not the spread. We're in no man's land right now. Yeah, I would have waited to implement it WHEN we could fully do so.

part 2, yeah we would have lost all three of the games....but not like this. 42-14 ish. IMHO

Would love to see you recruit. 'You want to be a receiver in the spread? Well come to RU and we might be playing the spread next year or it could be in three years but sometime I promise'

Part 2 - so if we are going to lose lets get the system installed now. Zero benefit to waiting

so you think that in addition to the QB ..all the other skill positions on the offense require a player to come from a high school that only ran the spread? A receiver can only run spread routes? A running back can only run out of the spread?

I said wait 1 year...you implement it next spring before these guys are on campus. Cause the guys Ash and team really recruited for the spread year 1 are not even on the team yet!

If (and I acknowledge it's not set in stone), but if we lose out and are not in any game in the second half - I.e. we lose by 17+ each game, will your view change?

Yes if money is there but that isn't gonna happen. Again, I don't think our fans watch football. Oregon gave up 70 and counting against Washington. Minnesota lost to Iowa. Maryland got blown out against their first real test. Etc etc

Oregon is getting blown out because they hired as DC a coach who lost to Flood while at Michigan.

this is a throw away year.
Michigan is playing far better than last year and so is OSU.

we are getting mangled up front. Schiano should have fired Flood in 2009. Our oline has been getting worse each year under Flood and we are paying for it. you cannot score when the pocket collapses immediately, WRs have no separation, QB cannot read.

in fact, in many case, the Michigan DBs ran our routs better than our WRs. our kids are just too slow.

in any other conference Ash would have had some more time to build. not in B1G. all 3 teams we played this year so far are NC contenders.
