I can see the logic of both appeals.
My gut feeling is that the committee will probably uphold CF's appeal
but reject the Stafford schools appeal because that would leave hardly anyone left in 5D.
But we shall see on Tuesday.

There's also a proposal from the Potomac District (Loudoun County) to split Class 5 into eight regions instead of four--that proposal would have a district with just Loudoun teams, with the Fairfax and Stafford teams combined in another district. Seems unlikely that would pass.

Riverbend and Massaponax are also trying to get into 6B. According to the appeal summary on the VHSL website the schools currently assigned to 6B are strongly opposed (12-1 against), so probably won't happen. Franklin County also submitted a letter in opposition.

I think that maybe the 4 regions isn't the best fit for all classes and that all classes don't have to necessarily be the same. I know 1A is trying to fix the unbalanced region A and B. Look at where schools are located in 5A and 6 A and maybe two regions or simply doing a statewide playoff would be better. I know that is more difficult for other sports besides football but again, you could have football formatted one way and format other sports into smaller regions for travel/tournament purposes.

I don’t think CF, MX, RB will win their appeal. The Prince William schools now have their own region and will be adamantly opposed to having anybody come in from the outside. They already have Champe from Loudoun (which I am sure the Fairfax schools kept out of their region). The Stafford schools won’t win the Class 5 appeal either, would leave one region with only 4 schools.
