Bertie/Pistolero (he's even got a logo on his helmet) is out to prove he's still got something. Cadel has a bike (mechanical issue). Andy is sticking on Bertie's wheel. Frank didn't match Bertie and looks it seems he'll just cruise along behind the BMC/Cadel team as they try not to lose the tour. Basso must be riding for a podium, because he should have gone if he wanted to win. Voeckler gave what he had to stick with Andy, but he's cracking. And we're not even over the second summit. The Alpe d'Huez still is out there.

also... Finally got to watch Stage 18 when I got home last night. That was picture perfect teamwork by Leopard-Trek. Absolutely brilliant stage.

I think its a tactical error by Schleck. Contador was too far back, and now they might both crack on L'Alpe D'Huez.

My man Voeckler is making an even larger error, though, pedalling away in No Man's Land. I think this could be Evans' day. Let's hear it for the former mountain bikers!!!

Unless Andy just wanted to put pressure on Cadel again, make him spend himself on the Galibier, and drain him for the d'Huez. Andy still has Frank back there, so he possibly won't have to pull himself up either of the HC climbs.

Voeckler had no chance today, and his team is probably completely gassed, too. I think he should have stuck with Evans as long as possible, then seen what he had left on the d'Huez.

He just reacted to the unexpected move by Contador. Of course, his team could have called him back, but once they had a gap on the Peloton there really wasn't any looking back.

Yesterday was brilliant, having a domestique escort him down the final descent. Andy actually sucks pretty bad at going downhill. That's where he got attacked about a week ago.

that's gotta be the most impressive finish short of Armstrong's record, right?

Also, it's hard not to get jealous watching these guys ride $10,000, state-of-the-art bikes like it's not big deal.

He was getting a bottle from the team car, and apparently, um, couldn't quite get a secure grip on the bottle, so he was just hanging on for several seconds while the car pulled him along. Then the guy holding the bottle sort of slung the bottle and Frank forward before finally letting go.

You can pretty much make out what's going on, but its' no substitute for Phil and Paul.

Contador just attacked and opened a gap on the Alpe d'Huez climb of about 36 seconds. Schleck and Evans are trailing and chasing Contador. Voeckler is out of the yellow if they finish this way by about 1:21.

Schleck is going to have to make a move on Evans before the finish today since Evans will make up the gap on the Time Trial tomorrow. 6.4 miles to go to the finish! Good stuff!
