Their Friday starter is the kind who can keep us off balance. Throws upper 80’s with great off speed. They have an excellent closer with good run on a low 90’s fast ball coupled with excellent slider. He has the look of Liebelt with his delivery. That said, I love the idea of an established West Coast program coming to Starkville.

Good thing Stanford is a private school (with those CA boycott laws and such).***

I've mentioned it before but Stanford has long been my favorite Pac-12 school. I am a bit biased since I used to be one of their employees, my sister did her medical residency there, and her children were born at their medical center.

I also used to wear a Stanford back-to-back CWS champions sweater when I was a senior at State-- that was one of the first things my sister sent to me after moving there in '88.

I've only seen the Cardinal baseball team play once-- they eliminated us from the 1990 College World Series on my birthday.

Hah! I've been joking with friends to set up a GoFundMe for me to go to Europe since we won last year's regional and super regional while I was in Spain.

I have heard Stanford likes to play small ball, which is what UCLA beat us with in ‘13. Is this true?

We shoulda laid off those high pitches. UCLA pitched high in the zone throughout the CWS and we played right into it. Fly ball after fly ball into the abyss that is the Rosenblatt outfield.

Stanford is not really similar to that UCLA team. They hit 25 more HR’s than we did this year. Hitting .280 as a team which is not great but not bad. Team ERA is very similar to ours, .03 points lower in fact.”

Europe is too close. Got any friends at NASA that can hook you up with an international space station or lunar visit?

Stanford would be a 3 seed in someone else’s regional if they played in the SEC. we should handle this team, but stranger things have happened (Arizona 2016). The pac 12 is trash this year.

As long as 57Strat dosen't say **** like this we're probably okay, but I hate being too confident. We are M State after all. Having Fresno come in would be the death knell though. ULL 2014 written all over it.

Talented team. 5 players drafted in first 6 rounds (most among super regional teams). 3 pitchers, a catcher, and a center fielder.

I hope Stanford feels like they’ve stepped onto the planet Mars when they get to the dude.

I saw a tweet that said it was Dave Neal and Ben McDonald. Which one is true?
