Pretty poor of "The Recruiter" not to even show up for this Honor for such a great player at MSU.</p>

You would think that after all SWAT gave to MSU, including his senior year scholarship, that his coach could at least show up and support him on his big day.
I just think that it is pretty piss poor and even I thought better of Stans than this.

had something to do with Stans not being in attendance. It sucks that Stans wasn't able to be there, but it's not really a big deal.

But State assistant coach Phil Cunningham, subbing for head coach Rick Stansbury who was on a recruiting trip, didn't recount his well-known stats for the audience. Instead, he touted Varnado's humility. "He's as humble a person as you'll ever find," Cunningham said.

</p>

Varnado signed with agent Kevin Bradbury of BDA Sports. The glitz and glamour of Los Angeles made the country boy smile a bit when asked about it Thursday, but he says he's focused on the reason he's there.</p>

But for one day, he came back to his adopted home to get some pats on the back.</p>

"A guy playing ball at Mississippi State getting all this recognition, it's a real honor," he said, grinning. "I thank God every day for it. Just the ability He gave me. It's just a real good honor, but I take it one day at a time.</p>

"I came a long way for a skinny kid from Brownsville, Tennessee."</p>

Is the only thing you do is wait for Stans to fart so you can come tell everybody how bad it smelled? I would be willing to bet Jarvis is perfectly fine with it whatever the circumstance, you should be too.</p>

Or at least that is my guess. He only spent 12 minutes in the show's first segment this morning ripping Stans for not appearing. Claimed it had nothing to do with his hatred (excuseme, "constant minutae obsessed criticism")of Stans. He sounded like an idiot, as usual.

talking to Mr Basketball (Tn)guard who got out of his NLI with Auburn. They released him as he asked to be released stating he didn't fit into the new coaches dribble/drive offense. (Steele is his last name) Lots of schools are after him. Lebo wants him at E Carolina but I think he will play at a higher level.

And I actually kind of agree with him on this one. Stans should have been there.

Of course if Stansbury would have cut his recruiting trip short to come back for the ceremony you would have been crying about that too.

The signing period for basketball begins Wednesday and ends May 19.

Steele obviously has a lot of people interested in his services. Mr. Basketballs don't become available less than one week before signing day often. Varnado won the award last year I believe and Rick was there then. I'm sure Jarvis didn't mind Coach Stansbury not being there. Stansbury has an EXTREMELY limited time frame to recruit this guy. He has the rest of his life to be there for Jarvis, if Jarvis were to need him.

No two ways about Rick made the right call for the good of the program.

Sweet, another 6'2" slight framed 2*/3* guard.

I half kid. If he ends up being another Stewart, awesome. Damn we seem to lap this sort of player up.

“Right now,” said Steele, “my uncle (1999 KIL player of the year and former Austin-East standout) Jazz (Kimber) just tells me to take every visit.
I found a picture of his uncle (he's the one on the left):

He was out looking for another job, instead of being there for one of his players.
