Several of you, Brian, russell, dawgbreeze, etc. keep saying our dumbass fanbase will "get what it deserves." This doen't make sense to me. What about those of you who are huge Stans supporters(and I think there are many more supporters than haters in the fan base as a whole) You will be handed the same fate. What do you deserve? This is some dumb *** rationalization to me, as it seems some of you now are going to be hope we suck so you can say I told you so to 4 or 5 guys on a message board.

For the record, I am indifferent. I like Stans, but don't love him. I don't think he is fireable right now, and I don't like the constant bashing. He does however, have several poor coaching decisions on his resume, and alot of the same mistakes over and over. The timing of this is what makes it bad for me.

So what do the 100% supporters deserve?

it is clear his time has passed here. Maybe a change in scenery will wake his *** up?

In the meantime, we have a vacancy to fill.

but I love MSU more. I dont want him to leave, but as long as MSU is successful in the long term, than I will be happy.

No one coach is bigger than the University. Anyone who hopes we fail in basketball so they can say "I told you so" is a $%+%**! idiot.

Maybe that is why he is getting out. He knows after we win 13 games next year he will be shown the door.

If we bust in this upcoming class, it could hurt us for many years after that class signs. We have a ton of guys graduating in the next 2 years, and we desperately need some solid recruits.

I agree with that. The timing of it is what makes it bad for MSU. We dont have an AD right now. You gotta think the odds of Sidney jumping go up exponentially, maybe even Bost. The pool of coaching candidates appears to be very slim.

Hopefully MSU can find a coach who is better in the long run.

then we can have idiots on here hoping the new guy sucks. Because, after all, being right on a message board is WAY more important than MState beingsuccessful. My point is I don't think the new guy will do any better than what Stansbury did here and the guys that constantly bashed what we had will soon realize MState's SEC pecking order in basketball too. Now we are going to suck in all 3 of the big sports. Yay us!

we aren't the only fanbase bitching about a coach who has had some success. Our fans seem dumb as 17 sometimes, but they aren't that different from the rest of the NCAA.

Because I've asked him straight up. He wanted an asst coach change no doubt though.

Fish99 on the other hand seems to hate everything Stans does on and off the court.

We will be at least NIT worthy if Sidney plays next year. I guarantee Stans wouldn't do any better than that.

If he doesn't play, we are cellar dwellers and recruiting will be tough. But it would be tough if Stans was here too and we tanked.

I don't understand this statement. In my mind, the "coaching pool" is pretty much any coach who didn't sign a contract extension within the last year. Just because a coach is employed doesn't mean he wouldn't take a look if someone came along and made an offer. After all that appears to be what happened w/ Stans, right?

Elgin will have been out of game play for almost 2 years. John Riek is a bumbling ogre thatlooks nothinglike some of the Hasheem Thabeet comparisons, and Wendell Lewis isn't even a center, he's a PF. We will be screwed if Sidney leaves next year.
