I am sure he is. I got a call last week from a friend asking me about the Meridian- Brandon football game and he began telling me about Adams. He is a friend of the family. In conversation he told me the kid wants to go to State and has 2 younger brothers that are huge for their age and can play also. I am sure I will be kept informed of his situation though.

the jackson area has some SERIOUS talent for the next few years. laquinton ross is projected as one of the top players in his class nationally. i think smith will be big-time too.

stans knows this and will have the schollies ready for these guys, i'm sure. a successful next couple of years (and success for osby and shaunessy) would go a long way to landing these guys.

I've seen both Smith and Ross play.
I was more impressed with Smith than Ross.
Smith had some good moves and would take it to the rack..
Ross was a little lazy, but he could shoot the rock and had some ball skills for a big man.

That sounds like some good news on Adams.
I've heard he could ball...

If Stans could land those three he better make it to the Sweet 16...

if that they can't go pro without going to college first. No more Bender, Outlaw, Monta sagas.

i'm afraid that may turn into a trend. euro-basketball may become a showcase for the best high school recruits for one year - and they'll get paid the big bucks.

unless, of course, jennings's stock falls.

That brings up a question that's probably been discussed before. Would you take a "one-and-done" to get to the Final Four. (i.e. Greg Oden, Derrick Rose, etc...)

Is there anyone that wouldn't?

Can add Vicksburg High School's Mychal Ammons to that mix as well. Was on same FIBA world champion team as Tyler Adams of Brandon. I am sure Dellie will steer in right direction.

Note: Dellie is Delmon Robinson's father, Alcorn State NAIA All-America-basketball</p>

Who is the gaurd that transferred from Terry to Lanier? I saw him play in the summer league this year in Jackson. Pretty sure he is a sophomre. He really seemed to control the game and got to rack whenever he wanted. Nice shot as well.

I have been watching two younger kids play in Jackson city leagues, both should be 7th graders this year, that could really play the game. I forgot their names, but I am sure I will see them this winter. Both extremely fast with ball, great passers, and could knock it down from anywhere. There is some very exciting basketball in 4 city gyms in Jackson.

I also watched Renaldo Sydney practice with Wingfield the week before he went back to Cali. If we could get that kid back to MS for a year or two it would be something to see.

Maybe the better question is "Would you take a one and done to reach teh final four once every four years and the rest of the years hope to make the nit?" or "Would you go for the longer stay athletes and make the tourney fairly consistantly with no terrible seasons and just hope for a deep run?"

You can also add Rodney Hood from Meridian to that list of studs in that class too.
