No way he is going anywhere anytime soon. I don't even see any heat being put on him to make any changes to his staff this year.
This just sucks....... Thanks Greg Byrne.......

MSU basketball , we Live and Die by the 3 ball......at least our center next year can hit the deep shot...

I'm guessing3 more years of bubble quality basketball were in store regardless of the AD situation.

If Stansbury's team tanked next year and he didn't lock up 3 good recruits out of the 2011 class, his job would have been in jeopardy. That hasn't changed much I don't think.

What has changed is that no AD coming in is going to have the support to tell Stansbury to get a new assistant. Stansbury will just tell them to 17-off. If Byrne had "encouraged" Stansbury to get a new assistant, I think Stansbury would have to at least act like he was listening.

I think the Byrne situation is an example of what could happen with Stans. We blast Stans, get a hot shot coach who might get us to a sweet sixteen, then he's snatched up by the big boys and we're left high and dry.

Let's face it boys, MSU is not a destination job unless you have some type of connection to the University.

Byrne was here officially what, right at 6 months before he canned his ***? A year after winning a bowl game too.

Nobody with half a brain argues that Stans is not minimally competent. He is at least competent.

The comparison is not valid.

I think next year will just be one of those seasons wheremaking the NITwould be a bonus but I was sure hoping for some new blood as an assistant coach. Success for Stansburynext year will be based on whether or not we land the top recruits in Mississippi.

Seems like a destination to Stansbury, Kirby, Cunningham and Grant.
