<span style="font-weight: bold;">MSU blew a 17-point lead, which shouldn't happen anywhere, any time to a team this talented. But Stansbury wasn't surprised.</span>

"You're not going to be able to hold that lead. People are going to make a run at you. LSU's good."</p>

In listening to coach Rick Stansbury talk about it, however, this is just "life on the road." He had some very interesting comments after the loss. Like this one: "Guys,
we were the underdog here tonight. We're the underdog on the road, now.
That's life on the road. It ain't easy on the road, now. It ain't easy
on the road, and that's why you've got to close them out when you have
those opportunities. You've got to close them out."
</p> <p style="font-weight: bold;">Vegas
would not agree, but there you have it. Stansbury put a lot of emphasis
last night on the toughness of winning on the road. Of course, this loss
came against a mediocre team in front of a sparse crowd. Not much of an
atmosphere.</p><div style="overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">Read more: djournal.com

I continue to be amazed by the things our idiot coach says, does he really belief this crap? If so, his *** should be fired this morning. It's time to begin the email campaign to fire his *** right now... Let's get it done, our players, fans, and school deserve better..
There is no way we should lose either of these last two games in overtime, Hell we should have brownout both of these teams by 15+ points with the talent on our team...
It's Time for a Change, Past Time....Anybody But Stans...

I don't care what the Vegas line was, we should have won that game. It may have been a road game, but it was about as close to a neutral court as you're going to get. And yeah, a team is going to make a run at you sometime during the game. You've got to withstand the run and build the lead back up. Ne excuse for losing that game.

No, but we had a chance to push that 17 point lead to 30, just as much as we did to lose it. How many teams have we blown out this year? How many double digit leads have we lost this season only to let the other team back into the game? You Stans apologist are ridiculous.

We were favored to win the game by 2 points, and your husband calls us underdogs. Sorry if you have a hard time comprehending that....

Yeah, everything we've seen from this team says we should have expected to hold a 17 point lead for 30 minutes. What a dumbass.

but I do think there's a huge difference between not holding a 17-pt lead and watching it completely evaporate over an 10-minute span. I honestly did not even care to watch the game last night because win or lose, I knew that I was going to end up getting pissed off and I didn't care to the end the night that way. However, my wife kept turning to the game and when we went up 30-13, I shook my head and told her that it would end up being a 2-pt game. Granted, I meant that I thought we'd end up winning by 2 pts, but nonetheless, I nailed it.

I already explained in a post earlier this year that I'm just done with Stansbury at this point, but I have to admit... his excuse-making attitude is starting to make me want him gone now. Of all the negative attributes that Croom had, it was his defeatist attitude and excuses that made me despise him. He always wanted to blame anyone but himself or a decision he made. Well, Stansbury is no Croom, but he needs to man up quickly. I would absolutely love to know what is running through Stricklin's mind right now.

I agree that it's a little ridiculous to say we should have expanded the lead to 30, but we sure as hell should have built it back up to 17 after thay cut it to 10. Or at the very least held it in the 10-15 range. Bottom line is we scored 28 points in the last 26 minutes of regulation. That should never, ever happen. Even against a good team, much less LSU.</p>

"We talk about that at practice a lot – finishing," Stuedeman said. "Finish each play, finish the moment, finish the at-bat, the pitcher needs to finish the inning, the hitter she's facing right then. … Last year they lost eight one-run games, and that was the difference between them being .500 and going to the postseason, and not. That's a vital key for this year, is to hammer in that we're not going away."

Never in my life have I seen a coach go an entire timeout without saying **** to his team. That's what Stansbury did last night right before we blew it. He doesn't even know what to say to them. He really is a huge dumbass. He can't even speak proper english. I can't believe we still have this guy at our school. They say that a team takes on the attitude of the coach. Well it's pretty easy to see why our team is so weak minded. Our coach makes excuses for everything. No matter how bad something is, he finds a way to make it ok. He looked the media in the eye the other day and said that Georgia was a good bball team. Give me a 17'n break. Does he think people believe that crap?</p>

"You're not going to be able to hold that [17 point at 30-13] lead." - Stansbury

"I thought we would lose thatgame [against a DI-AA team full of hockey players]." - Croom (or something similar)

and we shouldn't expect to win? No, I didn't expect to win by 17 but once getting that type of lead there is certainly NO excuse to freakin' lose!
