RSS out of shape

Jason King of Yahoo! Sports chimes in on the former McDonald’s All-American:</p>
But if this turns out to be more than a one-time thing –
if Sidney truly is the same overweight, out-of-shape, uninspired player
he was when he showed up on campus nearly 18 months ago – then it’s a
reflection not only on him but on Mississippi State’s staff,
particularly the strength and conditioning coaches.</p>

There’s no way the top player on an NCAA
tournament-caliber team should be allowed to fall so far behind that he
can only make it up and down the court a few times before removing
himself from the game.</p>

....stands for Real Simple Syndication, and is what provides you with all the blog links up top there. Find another acronym for Renardo Sidney that isn't already taken.

I know its been discussed ad nauseum but assuming Sidney is actually out of shape, how in the hell can you call yourself an SEC athletic coach and not have your players physically ready to play. I've always thought something was off with Stans but he has had his spurts of coaching decency so I haven't complained but this is inexcusable and embarrassing.

I really think everybody is making a bigger issue of his cramping than it really is. If he's been just loafing at practice he's probably in at least moderate physical shape.

He was nervous b/c it was his first game and didn't eat or drink right b/c of the butterflies in his stomach.

It's not like anybody refers to Sidney by three names anyway, or much less even knows what his middle name is. So what's the point? Did you save THAT much time typing RSS instead of "Sidney"? Pointless abbreviations are stupid.

I've also seen him referenced as The Difference, Tha Truth, and The Next Big Thing, just in case.

It really is a show, he comes with more baggage and drama than most chicks you and Johndawg go after at a bar.
Wednesday's cramping and talk leading up to the game only added to the Show, and let's just hope it's not a sitcom.

"I thought I was going to get 30 (points) and 20 (rebounds)," Sidney
told the Jackson Clarion Ledger. " I was cramping real bad. It's just a
poor game decision, not hydrating real well. I've got to do better and
hydrate and eat more bananas."

Yahoo on the RSS

I hope the RSS comes to play on Saturday and really is Da Difference.
Have a great weekend.......

the acronym RSS has over 100 meanings.<div>

They all come with baggage and drama. It's just a matter of degree.

I went to the game. I saw him play. If he had given at least some kind of effort at any point during the game, I would agree with you and say "cramps probably are not that big of a deal." The dude WALKED up and down the floor. Barely a jog, but mostly walked. Last one up and down the floor. On offense, stood there (until handed the ball, of course). Never jostled for position, never fought, hardly budged. During time-outs? He sat on the bench. While the rest of the team was huddled up, he looked like he just found the la-z-boy section of Sears. During warm-ups, just shot 3 point shots. Not one thing impressed me about Sidney (when he didn't have the ball). Half assed defense, gave up 2 layups without even getting a hand up. I'm not trying to trash anyone's opinion... but he did not impress me at all. I really hope I have to eat my words later...

His effort and conditioning speaks more to his character as a person and a player. Up to this point, we have wasted a lot of time, money and effort on this "project"....

In a couple of weeks we need to have another biggest MSU "busts" thread... He would be on it. I am still holding hope he comes around, but thus far, I am not impressed either.

10 and 6 in 15 averages to 25 and 15 over 40. I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying. I'm just curious as to how he racked up those numbers. Was he being fed the ball even though he wasn't the best option? I'm just trying to figure this out.

But there is a LOT MORE to basketball than just getting the ball. The only time he looked like he gave a crap was when he had the ball. With the time and money we have already invested, he should have come out ON FIRE. Fighting and clawing hard, playing hard on every trip up and down the floor. But I don't think you will find anyone who went to the game tell you he played hard... at all. He looks like a liability. Like I said, I hope I eat my words with all this, but Brandon Bolen and Wyndell Lewis impress me because they play hard EVERY TRIP up and down the floor. I'm no basketball expert, but I have seen and played enough sports to know that coaches SHOULD expect a lot more from their players (especially someone like Sidney) than just numbers. John Wooden, the greatest basketball coach of all time (arguably), could have cared less about points or numbers. He wanted his players to do the little things well. Come to practice, be engaged, work hard, play hard, never give up. <div>
</div><div>EDIT: I am NOT comparing Stansbury to Wooden. Just throwing that out there.</div>

Have you SEEN some of the girls Meoff has gone out with? Although, I've got to admit, the one he was with Wednesday seemed pretty sane.

Second, it was freaking Belhaven. His average production per minute was still only 3rd on our team that night behind Bost and Johnson. He's going to play himself all the way out of the 1st round to not drafted if h doesn't get his *** in shape real quick.
