And apparently it is when Stansbury does it with Richard Williams's players. But let Stans go 20-12 today and he should be fired.

your trying to say the 98 team Williams had was as talented as 99? Really?
I don't recall much about the 98 team because MSUbasketball had become a massive freaking bore by then and I had quit following it. Not even an NIT to get excited about. Williams had taken us right back to the old days by then. I think he was distracted by.....uh....other issues shall we say.

That in a nutshell is why I am able to appreciate what Stansbury has done. Iremember how much it sucked to have no postseason at all. These postersthat say they would be happy to make a Sweet 16 even if itmeant only making the tourney every 4-5 years are nucking futs. Those warm fuzzies from winning one more game in the NCAA tournament only last for a little while.

this is the second year in a row with no inside scorer, and it shaping up like it will be three years in a row - you can't compete with the elite or break that sweet 16 ice without it (or a whole lot of luck and excellent coaching)<div>

They weren't good. Any momentum gained by the 96 Final Four was lost. We were 12-18 and 15-15 with a combined 10-22 SEC record. Stansbury turned that team into a 20-13 team with an 8-8 SEC record.

I doubt very seriously we get all of them. I doubt all of them can get in a D1 school.

When we quit selling tickets, our fans don't show up, we quit being competitive, and we quit winning it will be time for Stans to go.

C'mon Todd.

P.S. Winning is a good thing, I remember the late 60's, 70's and 80's to well!
