One guy said this:
I say again - Rick Stansbury

He has done a good job at Miss State, knows the conference and might be willing to make the change for a little more jingle in his pocket. I would have to think our new facilities would be a nice carrot and I would hope Auburn could be easier to recruit to than Miss State. He's a known commodity that could elevate our program. Not particularly flashy but a solid coach. Like some have said I don't see us going out and getting the flashy name for a lot of reasons and we have tried to hire the "up and comer" before without much success. Stansbury is a proven commodity and he's someone we might be able to actually hire.

Basically, a generic "if that guy can win at MSU, certainly he can win at Auburn" post. I'm trying to figure out why he thinks Rick is a "known commodity".

I have a blown out knee. I couldn't wish that on anyone. Maybe he'll grow fond of his TIVO and flunk out. Maybe he will miss his momma, or get caught throwing a flirt at Ms Head Coach, or anything would be better than losing a knee.

I've been told too many times here nobody could have the success here that Rick Stansbury has had...we will never be able to win 4 West titles in 12 years ever again.

That is quitea list of names the original poster compiled.
Who knew the Auburn job was so coveted.

I love that Scott Drew at Baylor, Bobby Knight, and Mike Andersonare even mentioned. How did they pop up enough to even necessitate elimination?

Brad Stevens at Butler has a 10x better job than Auburn.
Steve Alford wasnt run out of Iowa for flirting with Indiana. He was hardly loved for more than a couple years and was only tolerated because they were having success. He left when the team lost top Big10 seniors and Tyler Smith. It was going to be a terrible upcoming year and he got out at the perfect time(for him). He is now at a school that loves their basketball and is having success. Why ruin all that for going to Auburn?</p>
