If true, I hope posters like Coach34 and fishwater are right and we can do better. But they're probably not.</p>

Coach34 is as happy as a 8 year old kid on Christmas.

If Stans does go to Clemson, who would be possible candidates to replace him??????

Off the top of my head I got NOBODY.

we wouldprobablymiss out on the entire 2011 class. It is going to be hard to watch those 5-6 guys playing well for other schools knowing they were in our backyard.

while Stans does a pretty decent job for what expectations are at MSU I personally think Stans will get eaten alive playing ACC competition game in and game out. Stans may surprise me, and his ability to recruit at Clemson may help things, but the basketball crazy ACC ain't the SEC West. Bury would be going into a brave new world.

If this is true, and I'm not mistaken, a head coach leaving allows players to transfer without having to sit out a year. I worry that Bost, and possibly others, would bolt.<div>

and Mullen didn't have Croom at another school recruiting against him. It is a much tougher situation.

often times players will have it put in their NLI that they can get out of it if the coach leaves before they get to campus, but once you are there, you have to sit out a year.

you have schools like Duke and Kentucky coming in and going after these guys and we totally restart our program with a new coach and you don't think that is going to hurt our chances?<div>
</div><div>Mullen kept most of Croom's COMMITMENTS none of the 2011 class hascommittedanywhere to my knowledge. There is a big difference in retaining players who have committed to your school andactivelyrecruiting players who are still open. The one exception to that in Mullen's case is Bumphis who he was recruiting at Florida and had a relationship with.</div><div>

I had a friend that played baseball at UAB, after the coach was fired, he left for Georgia Southern and played without sitting a year.<div>
</div><div>I hope you are correct.</div>

The NCAA nixed that rule over the summer. It was because of what Cal did to Memphis last year when he left.</p>

up until 2 years ago, you could transfer without sitting out a year in baseball whenever you wanted to.

players are signing with schools. I know they will say they are signing b/c of a coach and they are, but you sign up to play for schools.

Transfer rules have historically been different for different sports.

You cant leave a team andplay right away at a new school just because a coach leaves. This can be proven by looking atall the hundreds of basketball coaches in the pasteven decade that have changed jobs and yetany players that leave then sit.
