Guys, a lot of football left to be played and it is still a team game. Talents of individual nature don’t win titles. Keep that in mind before crowning anyone as the “best”.

You mean 5a, who has the #1 ranked team in IL (East St Louis)?
No, I get it and I have much respect for Justin and Jordan Lynch and what they do. My earlier statement was just a response to a long-running stance of the OP regarding classes. @caravan8 and @McCaravan knew where I was coming from. Great win by the Caravan and great game by Justin.

Yeah I would be comparing EStl with Loyola. 5A does not have the best “team”.

Lynch is good, but I thought Tony Livermore was as good or better. He is a very impressive player from what I saw last night.
He’s a fun player to watch, very tough kid who is hard to catch. Going to Northwestern on a baseball Scholarship. Livermore, Parker, Schooler, Gilbert...never thought I’d say this but MC is loaded at WR!

IMO after how they played last night I don’t think they are the best team in Illinois.
So we don’t think Neuqua is that good huh. They are in 8A and they looked pretty solid at QB and the receiver position. Good routes. Receiver catching darts, which equates to good hands. QB IQ seemed on point. He was very good at reading the defense....Well coached and they executed their game plan. I think Neuqua is going to be a problem in 8A .

Too bad it happened against a 5A school so not that impressed. Your rule, not mine

My rule says nothing like that. Rather, if you play 7A and 8A talent in September and October, you can't brag about winning a tiny program trophy in November. Is this concept all that hard to understand? Remember the Blue Light Specials at K-Mart? Think about it the next time you beat up on Evergreen Park.

So instead a team like mc dropped down to the green last year plays inferior teams and goes into the playoffs healthy which is worse.

All teams were to be sent to the green for a season or two ... we were first. So what?

We didn't play any patsies in November.

They could have chose to stay in the blue. You say it as if they didnt have a choice. So instead 5a montini had no problem stepping up to the challenge of the blue. Why doesn't mc petition up like east st louis used to?

Personally class has nothing to do with 1A or 8 A . Maybe even 12 A . If anyone has a good game it’s a good game reguardless of class. Class is only school enrollment. I think montini as well as some other could hold there on against larger school. The problem is some schools do not schedule larger schools for fear of losing.

They looked good. But I wouldn't crown them yet. The problem you're going to have is we have other information to gauge NV, their games against GBN and Stevie. Based on all the information I'd say this is a typical good NV team.

You don't think kids get hurt playing lesser teams? You need to reconsider.

BTW, in November, we beat both Lake Zurich (on the road), as well East St. Louis, which, according to their posters, is this year's best team in IHSA. We lost to eventual runner up, St Charles North in OT.

I think they are good not great. Giving up 48-50 points doesn’t make anyone great. NV can cause problems in 8A but that’s still to be seen. Causing problems and winning state or even getting that far is completely a different animal. ESL doesn’t have the same problem since they play in 5A.
