I worked at a comic shop when AotC and RotS came out and remember the era very well. To the best of my recollection, most people liked RotS, but AotC was almost universally reviled. People liked Jango Fett (we sold a lot of Jango figures) and that was about it.
I’m about the same age as @WildcatFan1982 and I was working at a video store (the coolest job I ever had 😂) when that movie came out in theaters and on DVD. I guess we all base our stuff on anecdotal evidence. People liked it that I encountered but like funky said, basically anything Star Wars was entertaining after a long hiatus of nothing. Watching it now, I see more cringe but I thought the actors were good and Jango Fett was the ****.

I don’t care what anyone says. Revenge of the Sith is a top three Star Wars movie.

Haven’t watched any Star Wars movies or shows since Disney took over but I might give this one a try since Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of my favorite characters from the series. Ewan McGregor nailed that role in the prequel trilogy and hope he does here too.

Planned to check this out later tonight. Anyone not have to work today and watch it yet?

I think these first 2 episodes have been a decent start to the series. Maybe a little below lofty expectations, dragging at times, but I’ll hang in there and let the plot and characters develop. It’s evident right off that Ewan McGregor is in a whole other class in the acting department. He’s the real deal. Some of the other characters feel a little forced, no pun intended. But, I’m hopeful and confident this series can go from good to great by conclusion.

You mean Dinesh from Silcon Valley?

I don’t think I am a fan of the Leia actor at all.

Oh come on, you do not like Hans from Fast & the Furious all white faced and alienized? come on man. I did not care for the ending as I was more of a fan of the other villain main villain.

I really do not feel like we can talk too much about this due to the episodes coming out, but I think it is pretty obvious of the origins of the one villain from the opening scene.

She is appallingly bad. I refuse to believe they couldn't find someone better. Pretty good chance anyone would've been better
Eh. She's not that bad. A lot of it is the writing making her too precocious. I do wish they had gone with an actress about 3 years older.

Star Wars should have as few child characters as possible, especially little kids.

I thought the first two episodes were excellent and up there with Mandalorian.

I liked it. Not a fan of the villain as it’s just ridiculous but whatever. McGregor is the ****.

Watch first 2 last night. Liked the story is about what went on as Luke and Leia were children after they were separated. Was surprised that after 10 years that Obi Wan did not know that Anakin had survived. Guess since he has become a hermit in the Outer Rim and Yedi about extinct he would not have have got some word.

Seems he would've felt him through the force? Of course they made sure to show he was rusty with using it but still

That's my main issue with the actress is that she's supposed to be 10 but looks like she's 6 or 7. You can get away with that for older teens and adults, but it's obvious with little kids.

I think they're writing her as extra precocious to play up the whole angle of her being a rebel like her dad. I think Obi-Wan mentioned it in the 2nd episode.

The problem with MacGregor being such a good actor is that he makes everyone else look bad by comparison.

Good show so far, but I'm going it goes from good to great.

The crazy obsession of the former Jedi turned Jedi hunter is the unexpected story. It just doesn't make sense yet but hearkens back to episodes when Luke and the rebel fleet barely escape from Vader.

I think the backstory of Third Sister will be more fleshed out as we go along. I have read some theories that she was one of the young padawans at the school in the beginning of episode 1. I also find it interesting that she knows Vader's identity. That can't be common knowledge across the empire.

At what point is Hayden's Vader going to be on screen?

After I watched the episodes, I had to go back and look up Leia's and Obi-Wan's previous interactions in A New Hope. Shew man, imagine the team who has to keep track of the Star Wars universe timeline and continuity.

I really tried as the preview looked good but after about 35 mins I turned it off. I just can’t with star wars. Anything to do with that franchise is just so…campy I guess is the word? It just seems the whole series is targeted at 13 year olds, which honestly it might be. The series has just never matured from its original 70s movie like James Bond or even mission impossible. Just the same lame dialogue and horrible acting.

If you don't like little princess Leia you have issues.

My only gripe is that Reva was the one to tell Obi-Wan Anakin was still alive. Completely unearned moment for that character.

My understanding is that Vader and Papa Palpatine kill off anyone who knows his identity as quickly as possible.

Count me as having issues. She's probably 5 if that and trying to play a 10 year old. In the running scenes (which apparently they love) she really ran like a toddler. They couldn't find anyone else?

Reva is awful too but not as bad.

Ep 3 was good overall. Alot of payoff in those scenes. Didn't really add up but it was so cool I think noone cares.

She’s apparently 9 years old, will turn 10 later this year, I believe. So she’s probably 8-9 when this was filmed.

Anyway, Reva is **** and the worst part of the show. I’m just not a fan of a female antagonist who’s supposed to represent a physical threat. Just not in this universe. Her acting is atrocious .

But the Vader/Kenobi scenes are tremendous and why I tuned in to watch.

Ah yes Jameslee right on time to try to ruin yet another thread with politics.

I don't like her because she sucks as an actress. Plenty of other minorities on there that do fine.
He's an actor. He didn't bring up woke either. It's a Qook hate epidemic and it's now in this thread. Congrats.
