but he's a good coach. He even had a few Stans-like issues back when he was just starting out (not to the same extent though). And he lost a game as the favorite last week I believe.

I heard the pre-game show. Hall said he hadn't watched any film of West Monroe (understandable) and doesn't know anything about them. He's in for a rude awakening.

I saw them play last week- MC looked awful. They put some points up on the board, but unless I'm mistaken two of their TD's came when they had a short field after turnovers.

I hate to bust on a high school kid- but Rowell the QB is not a good player. He's slow and he can't throw. He doesn't make decisions quickly enough. Of course, Hall thinks he's all world, so he's going to play no matter what. Maybe Rowell has him by the balls because Hall got him from St. Andrew's- maybe some benefits going on there. MC has one of the best baseball programs in the state, and Rowell is the best that they can come up with?

The o-line is small except for Devon Desper. The rest of the o-line are guys that 6'0" or less and they weighed something like 260 pounds. How does that happen at MC? We are still the leading state in obesity, right? At a school that size, are there not four more guys that are a comparable size to Devon Desper?

The skill guys are decent. Not All-World, but decent. Hugh Warren the FB is walk-on caliber. Of course, he's the only one that Rowell can get the ball to.

Last week, the defense missed tackles left and right. If the officials hadn't bailed them out, they give up 49 points at least. They played better tonight, but it's not going to matter much with Bobby Hall's prehistoric offense and midget o-line.

And then the FG formation for punts? WTF?

Hall needs to go. On the radio they said that he was feeling "ill" this week. I have to wonder if the stress is starting to get to him. He wanted to take MC to where it was like Hoover- but he just isn't good enough to do it. I think he is realizing that now. Regardless, and I want to make this perfectly clear because it is no secret that I am not the biggest Bobby Hall fan in the world- I DO NOT want him to be ill to step down and I DO hope that he gets better soon simply because I have good taste unlike that douche from NAFOOM that wishes that I would get cancer and die because I am a Bulldog. I'm simply making an observation.

I really think that Hall would more than likely have won 5-6A whatever it was two years ago- if he had run the spread offense at MC. I think if someone does run the spread, they are going to be very, very good. Handing it off to the FB time and time again and running it up the gut or on an option keeper is not taking advantage of the talent that MC has.

So, despite my title of this post, I will disagree about wanting Justice back- and I do love Coach Justice, so don't get me wrong. But I want MRA's coach- Forrest Williams. He won 4A at St. Stanislaus, and he runs a wide open spread offense. Dylan Favre set records under this guy. If all goes "as planned" Todd Mangum will be the head coach- and I just hope he hires a spread guy as OC, which is certainly possible since that's what he did at Ocean Springs when he was the HC. But, I hope the school board has and keeps an open mind and gives Williams a fair shot.

Looks like my prediction is going to come true- MC will start out 0-4- and the only way they beat Petal is for the officials to completely take the game over like they did against Olive Branch. West Monroe will embarass MC. I also think that MC will lose to Clinton and NWR on the road. MC will get to the playoffs because they are in a weak district, but I would not be shocked at all if one of the Vicksburg schools or Greenville upsets them. Right now, MC is staring at a 5-7 season. Tonight, I think woke up a lot of people who kind of passed off the Olive Branch loss as a close loss to a "good team" when in reality it was a bad team that had a lot of help from the officials.

But he also did something that Bobby Hall will never do at MC- and that's win the highest classification of Mississippi HS football at Madison Central. Justice was also able to beat South Panola on the road once.

Two things:
Madison's 10th grade class is loaded. They punked everyone they played last year by big scores.

I think the FG/punt is actually a good idea. FG kicking is far closer to soccer than is punting. MC has soccer players running out of its ears. If MC can get 40-45 yards on a FG/ punt andpin the ball against the sideline, then that is a good play.

with soccer players running out it's ears- which you are absolutely correct by the way- could find someone who can punt the ball traditionally.

You are right about MC's freshman team last year- however, I have to wonder how many of those players are now at Germantown? I know Tyler Shell, Germantown's QB was one of the QB's on the ninth grade team.

Also, assuming you are correct in that the sophomores are that much better, why are they not starting and playing more?

Bobby Hall uses the same model as Houston Nutt to develop QB's. He doesn't develop them. He just takes transfers from other schools.

But I want MRA's coach- Forrest Williams.

I will have to share with him that he is gaining a following on SPS. He was one of my best friends while we were at MState.

The guy is definitely a smart dude when it comes to football. I can easily see him getting the opportunity to make the jump to a college level position coach. If he gets that chance (and takes it), he has the potential to keep moving up through the ranks.

the field during games? Stans brought his kids to a 120 Club meeting in Jackson several years ago and the whole time he was speaking they were walking back and forth behind him, crawling under the table he was standing at, talking to him, playing with toys, etc. I wanted to pinch their damn heads off, childabuseku

He's 6'4" and about 300. He is mean- which is a good trait for an o-lineman. He pretty much dominates his man every game. He's also football smart and he's a good leader.

I think he will be a starting guard and then center for us later in his career. I think he will play pretty early in his career- I'm sure he will redshirt, but after that, I think he will see a lot of action for us. He should have been Dandy Dozen.

I say ironically after he talked about how crappy the private schools in Mississippi are, and yet since he has been at MC, his QB's have come from Canton Academy, JA, and now St. Andrew's.

From what I've been told, he used to recruit player in Monroe County when he was at Amory as well.

It was embarrassing to see. Outside of Desper, they looked like a 3A OL. And played like it, for what I saw vs. OB.

The FG thing was baffling. I can't see a legitimate reason for having to resort to that.

as the OC. I am interested to see how Williams does at MRA. They lost to Prep 32-13 and then beat Canton Academy 64-0. Not enough to judge, but I think he will do well at MRA. He might even win the state championship there one year. Perhaps if MC hired Williams, he could talk Rayborn into joining him.
