about our job: In modern day athletics when people actually started caring about all sports, we have had 3 coaches, Rockey, Jackie, Sly.

To say our program is a dead end is to say that Rockey and Sly would have had success at other programs. And that makes that person a joke. People should think before they talk.

Exactly. We all know this. However, it needs to be repeated. We have never hired a proven, young head coach. So, nobody really knows if it is a dead end. Hell, even with all of Jackie's baggage, Bama was looking at him in 2000. If they don't have the NCAA breathing down their neck, he may have been their coach. All that after averaging about 7 wins a season at that point.

State should be a desirable job for a young guy looking to prove himself.
-National exposure with the SEC
-Pays well
-MS has good talent to recruit.
-Low pressure from adminstration and fans (average 7 wins and beat OM every other year and you are golden).
