I'm curious because I'm attending the game Saturday, and this will be my first time to get dinner in Starkville in at least a decade.

Commodore Bobs & Tyler have the best food. Veranda and the Camp House next in line.

Restaurant Tyler is my favorite. If you haven't eaten at Tyler, I would highly recommend you put it at the top of your list. Strombollis and Two Brothers are probably my second favorites.

I don't know what you are looking for as far as atmosphere but I like Stagger. Great wings and drinks. Good bar atmosphere.

Bulldog Burger is really good too and has a good selection of beers on tap.

The Flavor is not at the Veranda anymore.

Ate there last weekend and it was 17ing atrocious. Catfish wasn't seasoned at all. Fried well, but completely devoid of any flavor at all. The crawfish sauce with it was a congealed mess with one crawfish tail in it with all the tenderness of a gummy bear that's been under your couch for two weeks. The fried green tomatoes were crunchy because the tomato was so damn unripe. The people who ordered the short rib basically got beef jerky on the bone. They sent it back because it was just inedible. One of the pork tenderloins came out sushi grade. I will never forget how ****** that meal was.

Commodore Bob's was really good.

Two Brothers looked awesome, but we just popped in for a drink and got some pimento cheese fritters before going to Bob's. They were damn good.

Bulldog Burger was pretty good. Little inconsistent across the burgers all of us got but mine was fantastic. Good Bloodys as well.

The Bin has always been good enough. Like a Starkville 7 or 8.

Last time I at there, Tyler was rather underwhelming.

Best atmosphere is hands down The Guest Room. The food is the same as Tyler, but the speakeasy vibe is the best thing in the Starkville dining scene, especially if you like interesting cocktails.

Maybe I'm turning into a grumpy old man, but I would agree with your evals other than Bulldog Burger just isn't very good. It's not bad. It just isn't good and it's too expensive to be anything less than fantastic.

The Veranda is inconsistent. Sometimes pretty good and sometimes awful.

I've never been impressed with Tyler. It's decent, but again, too expensive to be decent.

Harvey's is an absolute joke.

Bin 612 is solid.

Stagger In may have the most under rated grub in Starkville.

Two Brothers is great, but crowded.

Huck's is worth the drive over to Columbus.

Since City Bagel changed hands, it has become terrible. The most glaring problem I see is that the service has turned into ****. Food seems to have only gone down a little bit in quality (if they ever have Red Pepper Parmesan bagels), but the services makes me never want to eat there again.

Apparently Harvey's has made some major changes to the menu and restaurant, and my opinion was based upon the old spot....

FWIW, I've heard the new location is a lot better.

It portrays itself as a fine-dining type place, but is more in line with Applebee's.

Hate to hear that about the Veranda. I had very different experiences there this fall.

Bin 612 is a great place for a drink and to go out but the food has always been average to me.

last time i ate harvey's it was surprisingly good, i stopped going a long time ago cause it went to crap. Then about 18 months ago i was dragged there by some friends and it was twice as good as the veranda which has gone to **** both service and food. maybe it was a one off at harvey's but last 4 times i been to the veranda it wasn't worth it.

Commodore Bobs - Only bad experience ive had is on big game weekends. Small so service gets slow when packed and they tend to run out of menu items. This can be said for most fine dining in Starkville.
Restaurant Tyler
The Veranda

Guest Room - best food/atmosphere combo, especially if you like bourbon. Menu is same as Restaurant Tyler, which is 2nd fav place to eat.
Daves - Pizza/Burger/Atmosphere all great
