Italian night at City Bagel is my #1 spot right now. Get the baked meatballs with penne pasta. Also, BYOW or BYOL.
The Veranda is hit or miss. I usually stick to the shrimp and grits. It’s always on point. Steaks there are highly overrated. They have a good bar area and drink specials daily. Also, I just recently had hot wings there and they were awesome.
StaggerInn has some of the best food in town. Definite bar feel. Usually more locals than students.
Been to Two Brothers once and wasn’t particular impressed. Hadn’t tried again since it is small...space is limited. Same can be said for C-Bob’s, although I would say the food is pretty solid.
Bin 612 has solid food to me. Nothing out of this world, but good vibes.

Food:
Camphouse: Always something different and delicious on their specials menu. Good burgers, and excellent build your own mac & cheese.
Dave's: The Chicago style is one of the best I've had out of Chicago. Regular pizza is also good, as are the gyros. Burgers make the list as well. Also appetizers, get the "crack dip".
Stagger Inn: I've never had anything fried there that wasn't fantastic. Also their blue plate is always really good. Would not take young children, the menu has some... colorful naming choices.
Atmosphere (And also food):
Guest Room: Far and away the best atmosphere in town, excellent food and high quality drinks.
929: Nifty little coffeeshop with a quality atmosphere. They have a lunch menu now. And it's fantastic.
Dave's?: If you're into dark and tavern-ey, could be for you.
Honorable mentions and comments:
Bin 612: Good cheese fries, but if you want cheesy fries you probably want Stagger. Also good pizza.
Two Brothers: Really, really good street tacos. I had a really hard time picking between this and anything above it for food, you won't go wrong with any of them.
Flavors and Thai Siam: Both really good, especially for Asian food in Starkville, MS.
Jean Cafe: Good entrees, great cheese wontons, very friendly owner.
Harvey's: I don't remember the meal, I do remember the fried broccoli bites. I'd go back just for those.
Oby's, Bulldog Burger, Mugshot's
Ole Hickory: If you have time to go through Columbus, they have far and away the best steaks in the Golden Triangle.

This guy knows Starkville but he failed to tell you that the best sandwich is found at Gooch's Deli and after you close down The Landing you should head over to All Good's House of Death for BBQ.
The town really lost its appeal when they closed and tore down the Barnhills....
