Starkville is criminally underrepresented in Garden and Guns..

If any of you guys moonlight as a Souther food/drink/culture writer I would encourage you to put a piece together on Starkville. Hell, I would even donate for one of their writers to spend a football weekend in town and put together something.

Seems like I see a piece either about Oxford, or written by someone from Oxford, on every other page. It would be good publicity, and it would be a small win in the war against the general public's perception of our fair city.

Any ideas?

Agree--that's a great magazine and not some "elite" gentlemen's rag. Sure parts are stuffy, but it does highlight the positives of Southern culture. Even something about local eateries or gameday in the Junction would be nice. I think it would be better coming from either someone local or someone who's from out of state and was pleasantly surprised by the experience.

I'm sure they could snap a couple pics of the Cotton District and have it come across as a slice of New Orleans in central Mississippi. The Johnny Cash Festival would have been perfect.
