Not sure how to interpret that. Unlike MSU and Starkville, the U of OM is not part of Oxford but is the separate city of "university" MS. Exactly why do we give a **** anyway?

MSU is separate from Starkville the same way that UM is from Oxford.

Ok. Wohen I was at MSU in the 90s we had a Starkville zip code. Has that changed? What is the MSU zip and what is it called? MSU?

It's been the same ZIP for a long time. I was there 65-70 and it was 39762, and still is. Then it was called State College, MS though. I can't remember if it changed to Mississippi State while I was there or right after I left. The name change was a result of MSU being referred to as a university versus a college, and that change occurred some time before I enrolled, I think maybe the early 60s.

I like the sound of State College better for the post office, and it's also easier to pronounce.

You never hear "Mississippi State, MS" outside of the MLB draft when Bud Selig announces the cities the college each person drafted went to. Oh, Bud.

Anyway, not enough people live on campus in University or Mississippi State for it to matter. Not to sound like a jackass but Starkville was probably helped out by MSU shutting down their villages (can't remember the names). The international students who used to almost entirely live on campus in those now live in Starkville.

International students are smart. That's why they're here and not there.

Clayton Village was one. When I was there I think it was the only one. Was for married students.
