What Cable provider does everyone use? I hate metrocast and want to find something else. Cspire fiber isn't available in my area and it doesnt look like it will be for a while.

Does anyone use dish? if so what is your experience with them, how often does signal cut out in rain storms? Who do yall get internet from if you use dish?

Thanks in advance

I have DISH. Overall my experience has been positive with them. The signal does cut out sometimes in heavy rain and thunderstorms, but it is not as bad as i imagined it would be when I first subscribed to the service.

The 2 big PROS I would say about DISH network over DirectTV are :

1. SEC network has signed the deal with DISH. DirectTV has yet to make a deal.

2. You can get NFL Redzone for like 8 bucks a month without having to buy the entire Sunday Ticket Package.

I would give DISH and overall B+

I use Dish here in Starkville as well and have been really pleased with the service. I only have signal loss during heavy rain storms. I use Metrocast for internet because Uverse could only get 3 Mbps to my address and I needed more than that. Check your PM.

If you're a student, metrocast has a student bundle where you pay like $800 up front for cable and internet for the rest of the school year. Don't have to worry about the bill every month and it's the cheapest way..

But if you're not a broke student like me then get the cool ****

Things have changed a lot since I was a broke college student... 800$ up front? I would've laughed at the cable company for asking for that much... I was laughing at them for asking for my 40$ due at the end of the month... Broke College Student...

I have Dish and I really like it. The Hopper DVR really is amazing- Prime Time Anytime is the best thing going.
Just to clarify an earlier comment, Multi Sport with RedZone (and goal line, apparently) is now like $11/month. You also have to have at minimum the $59 or $69 package, which I believe is the same minimum to get the Hopper.
I haven't had much of an issue with signal loss- Honestly the internet (metrocast) goes out more often.

$800 up front for cable and internet... Divide that by 3 for me and my roommates and that's $267 a piece.

For $40 a month your dial up and antenna tv that you must have had in college would be $480 for the year..
