Starmount @ Mount Airy

With Mount Airy having only 7 seniors Starmount may be due a win over Mount Airy since Mount Airy has won the last 5 and Starmount won the previous 4 before that. Mount Airy has won all but 4 games since 2004. Can Mount Airy lose 3 or4 games non-conference games this year ? My first year of not having any idea where they stand and have done very little asking around and not the contacts I had before last year. So I am at a loss and just wondering if the 3 or 4 non-conference games loses are possible. Just talk and speculation from the low number of seniors.
Possible losses, Starmount, West Stokes, North Surry & Reidsville. If not them why or why not at each school. If Poindexter comes back, then that may make a difference with one or two good receivers Just my outlook !.

As usual, this game will show us absolutely nothing and these two probably won’t look like the same teams in a month or so.
Whichever team has the least amount of cramps and penalties should win. I’ve always hated these two playing as a season opener. North and South Stokes exist for a reason.

Prayers for a quick recovery for Poindexter. Always hate to see kids miss time due to an injury.
Half the schedule doesn’t have much of a gate. We just want a tune up before the teams that do have a large gate. That helps all those paying people get their money’s worth.

Well, I didn’t mean to hurt anybody’s feelings. I was just expressing my dislike of this being a season opener. Most of us remember how much fun this game was back when it actually mattered.
Don't think I have ever seen a thread that did not drift off-topic now and then and some that stayed off-topic. But I agree with fan44life but they will drift of topic .
On the bright side you will get a stokes county team second game. You can work the bugs out in this one.

It isn’t like West Stokes and Starmount have some long rivaled history. Outside of conference games, Forbush is the only one that REALLY matters.

Mt airy drops this game starmount wins but I will say this this team will be tough towards end of season could very much be like 2018 Rams the fight is there just got to get it together dropped passes and turnovers lost us the game this team will be good in 2020 though
Something like a pinched nerve in his back that can take a while to heal may never get better or could wake up in the morning and it be better, if I heard correctly
Congrats to Starmount ,definitely not getting any respect ,played east hard last season in finals ,Rams should be ranked way higher than ma this year .
I think if this team could get some passing going they will be legit Starmount made the western final last year and a very young Mt Airy team gave them all they wanted there is work to do but I like what I see
Where is East going once Gosnel is gone you see teams revolve Mt Airy is revolving Greens are gone here next year it will be you all our young team gave Starmount all they wanted tonight we could have won so
Yeh east will be down for sure ,gosnells ,greens kids like those are once every five or six years .

Why are y’all attacking each other don’t y’all both pull for the same team?? Who cares what the injury is specifically it’s obviously pretty serious or I think he’d be on the field. Just wish him a speedy recovery and don’t fight amongst yourselves. Crazy what an unexpected loss will do to some fans!!
