Well, hell, it can't be any worse of an idea than all of these people bitching and moaning about how horrible our recruiting is right now. I am just tired of all of these sad sacks complaining about stuff and being down. Make examples out of me, I don't care.

Guys this post was more sarcasm than anything. I don't know what else these guys are looking for out of a program.

ranking right behind the concern of whether american idol will lose ratings this season.

I mean this is all a 17ing joke. T Singleton is a talented kid but he's not the world beater. He's just very good. Brassell is no different but he's got a ways to go to qualify. CJ is a difference maker that could come in and do well but he'd also have a tough job beating out kids already on the team that are familiar with the system.

Whitehead is a cornerback that we need too, but again, he wont be the difference in one single win this coming year on our team.

If Croom were still our coach these kids might be the difference in no bowl and the liberty bowl. But Mullen has us a bit better stocked at the moment.

Ole Miss is another story. Getting swept for all 4 of those players would prettyleave them with the conclusion that their staff has managed to donothingright since Mullen was hired at state. They need fresh blood and skill position players at running back qb and wr.

I say all that to ask, just why in the hell is anyone's *** tight? they are the ones with the short stack going all in. We arent.

In the words of the immortal Chubbs Peterson, "Just easing the tension...that's all...just easing the tension." I am glad some people, Snake, have a sense of humor.

The first post that I have seen on this board stating that "we don't really need" Brassell, Singleton, Whitehead, and C.J. Johnson.

I've seen posts saying that Singleton and Brassell are all hype, but this is the first time I have seen anyone say that getting all four of those players wouldn't make a difference on a program.

Gradulations, you just went full retard.

Who cares about 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Jesus, that was so 17'ing stupid. Players like Brassell, Singleton, CJ Johnson, and Whitehead are the type of players that have the potential to take a team from the Liberty Bowl to the Gator Bowl... or from the Gator Bowl to the Sugar Bowl. Dan Mullen needs these guys to help us get to the next level. Can we do it without them? Hopefully... but I'd rather try doing it with them in maroon and white.

I agree with missouridawg. If Mullen wants them, I want them. CJ, Tobias, Brassels, whitehead and all the others are needed to take us to the next level. We could do it without them, but I would rather do it with them.

your hat on is the erection from the next load of tidbits from yancy. What's worse, you have to come here to let us all know how wrong we are for not painting our faces every day waiting on the next word about when these 4 are going to go. But if you had one lick of sense in that 17ing brain you could have interpreted my post correctly.

I didnt post 'we dont really need' them. My post was to question why the hell anyone's *** would be tight over the drama of where they are going to go.

YOU however seem to be making a very strong argument about how tight your *** should be. Congrats you simple minded *****.

Forgive me but I have the last 10 years of recruiting history of both schools on my side. There are 3-4 recruits EVERY year that the fans of both schools absolutely think the next 5 years depends on. They are wrong every single freaking year. One makes a difference maybe.

So try this again and then go run back totell your buddies at nafoom:

They are good players. All of which we want to sign with Msu.

NONE of their decisions are worth the fit people are pitching. IF you find yourself worried about this to that point you are one MAJORLOSER who seems to miss the point that the team is doing quite well ALREADY.

Or, and please pay attention to this....

Your team isnt doing very well and not getting them means you have nothing to look forward to next season.

Congratulations. you have represented your fanbase well.

Now go run along and worry until Feburary 2nd. Please keep posting.

"We dont need to WORRY to the point of our asses being tight because we have a pretty good team already"

and

"We dont really need the players"

We can certainly benefit. They are talented. But worry about it?

Sorry.

Robert Elliot nearly caused a fistfight between coaches in the front yard of his house.

Chris Strong, Tig Barksdale

2012 and beyond will take care of itself because that winner of a coach we have, will recruit players just fine and win with them whether it's these kids or not. We dont have Croom anymore. On the other hand it would appear the opposite is true in Oxford.

I can tell you why it matters.

It's part of Mullen's PR campaign to own the state, and a huge part of that has been his focus on Mississippi recruiting. He's made it clear that getting all the top talent in the state was his plan in how he wanted to build a championship program at State.

Not saying you won't still have success. You will. Your combination of OOC scheduling and the fact that Mullen has a clue will keep you in bowl games for as long as he's there, but he's sold his plan from Day 1, and this is part of it.

I've said from Day 1 that his recruiting plan wasn't going to go down the way he planned, because no coach ever dominates this state in recruiting. It may slant heavily one way or the other every so often, but it won't ever be a consistent domination by one program over the other. There are just too many Ole Miss towns/schools and too many State towns/schools that there will always be a good number of prospects that the other side just doesn't really have much chance at landing. Over an extended period under any coach, the in-state recruiting is going to balance out to close to a 50/50 split.

Still, Mullen, for the sake of his sales pitch, needs to win more in-state battles than he loses. If he loses Whitehead, Brassell, Singleton, and Johnson, and he doesn't flip Morris, he'll lose some traction in his sale of the idea that he's dominating the state in recruiting. Last year was right at a 50/50 split of the guys we went head to head over, but he still sold it as domination since you signed about 10 more Mississippi players than we did. This year, he will have a harder time selling that if he doesn't close strong. Landing Jones and keeping Johnson and Whitehead would give him some of that traction. If all he gets is Jones, then it's going to leave a bad taste.
