Wtf! We can't find a Sunday or midweek starter out of this supposedly talented staff we have? Who's fault is this? Thought butch was great pitching coach, but I'm starting to waiver.

Outside of graveman and lindgren, when was our last quality start?

That's not the point. 2 years ago we had zero bullpen to go to if a starter was off. It's the 7 inning and we are still in this game. A pitchers mentality is just part of it. That's not on butch.

I'd love to have a bullpen full of 2012 Chris strattons, but I don't care who your staff has on it, guys are gonna struggle. It's part of it. Gotta go play the game.

1 stinking run through 7 innings...

might not have mattered who we started today unless they were going to throw a shutout.

Butch sends them out there. If he's sending them out there with disastrous results, doesn't he deserve some of the credit? When we're pitching great he gets praise. When we're bombing starts, shouldn't he shoulder some blame? Does thus make me an idiot?

First off, where did I call you an idiot?

Lindgren is injured and we had to start a closer. I would have preferred Ross, but that's part of it. We've only had 2 disastrous starts with 2 different pitchers. We don't have a dominant starter. Butch get very little blame right now about the starts.

Also, it must be mentioned that pollo and Ross came in relief in both those disastrous starts and stopped the bleeding very well. Ill give butch credit for that, too.

We have an ace. It's Ross Mitchell.

He is the best pitcher on the staff and it's not close.

Put it in context of Chris Stratton.

Stratton on the year threw 109.1 innings and gave up 88 hits. Struck out 127. ERA of 2.38

Mitchell has thrown 37.1 innings already. 26 hits, 22 Ks. ERA of .96. Obviously, very different styles but Mitchell is extremely effective. We should find a way to get him 100 innings, like Stratton.

With an injured Lindgren, I would like to see Ross start Sundays. We can concede the
Friday game with Pollo and the full pen if somehow he has a decent start.
