He could not turn down UF. What else can he do at Boisie? They just lost any chance of making the big game when TCU, Utah, and BYU left the conference they are joining. Since the decision was made so late I doubt that Urban was planning on leaving. I would bet that he was told to fire the OC or leave himself. If this happened they would not be as likely to go with what everyone calls Urban Jr. You do not fire big brother and hire the little brother.

none of his assistant coaches had any financial means if that happened ... after a new contract, his coaches had a 2 yr deal now with 1 yr left .... thus they will get paid now where as last yr they would not

Instead of departing from the spread, they should do the spread on steroids - which is to hire the Oregon coach

But I'm not really sure anybody can hire the Oregon coach. Oregon has Nike backing. I think the Nike guy gets what he wants.

nothing wrong with that but there was nothing wrong with Spurrier`s systemeither. I just get the feeling they`ll go in a different direction. One thing for sure is they have access to enough talent to run anything they want.
