Do recruits totally base their decisions solely on baseball polls? No. Is it something that they look at? Yes. Do they look at it Boyd's site? Maybe, but definately not as much as they look at the polls.
Why do they look at polls? Maybe because they want to play for a good program?
If you didn't realize that Boyd was predicting who would make the regionals based on data, then you don't know how to use the site or interpret the data and the first place.
I think Boyd does some good work, but you have to take it for what it's worth. Much like a baseball poll. But then again, I don't believe Appalachain State is better than us in baseball, but if you go by Boyd's numbers, that's exactly what he's saying. In fact, the committee was ripped for not including LSU last year, but it turned out their RPI was much, much lower than what he had based on his math.
And I think there is a very good chance that he is off on us because I think the committee is going to take our injuries into account. But we'll see. You never know what they are going to do.
