I have been somewhat quite this year in regards to Stansbury and the Bball team. I have never been on the bandwagon of firing Stans just because he always fielded a team that was capable of winning any time they stepped on the court. Of course we lost several games throughout his tenure that I couldn't believe we lost but we also won some games that I didn't expect us to win. For the most part of Stans' career at State he has produced a team that has either made it to the NCAA tourney or been at least a bubble team, and I realize there were a couple of years we didn't make to the NIT but for the most part we have been in contention for a tourney bid.

I'm like most of you in that I can't understand why we can't seem to produce once we get to the NCAA tourney. No matter how much talent or momentum we have entering the tourny we just don't seem to play to our ability. Yes, I am disappointed with our tourney record, but I was happy we made it, therefore I was happy with Stans and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Over the course of the past three years I have come to the conclusion that Stans is not the coach I thought he was. In my opinion there has been not team chemistry over those three years. Remember the Delk twins and Hansbrough leaving? Last night I watched Augustus complain to Bost everytime there was a stoppage in play and I was just waiting for Bost the slap the **** out of him. That crap should not be tolerated by a coach, period. I don't know if the chemistry is the demise of this basketball team or the past two years teams, but there seems to be alot of individuals.

I got a little excited this year with the possibliity of Sidney playing and I still am. There seems to be some rumors leading to you to believe that he'll be cleared in the next week, but I'm not holding my breath. He could have a huge impact, but if you've seen him on the bench lately this kid looks like he weighs about 300 pounds, take away 20 for TV pounds maybe. At this point I just don't see by adding Sidney to the linup this late in year anything changing, if anything I believe it will damage the little chemistry the team has now.

My belief is that if Stans can't produce a tourney team this year then Byrne should give him a couple of options. 1) Ask him if he has the talent on next years team to make the tourny and if Stans believes he does, then give him one more year and expect a tourny bid, and if not then he'll be out of a job. 2) If Stans doesn't think he can make the tourney with next years talent then show him the door at the end of this year. Coach's are measured with progress and at this point Stans has showed no progress over the past two to three years.

This team has no leader, not go to guy, and no specific style of play that can lead them to the NCAAs, much less winning games in the NCAAs.

“They ball-screened an awful lot tonight, like they always do,” said MSU point guard Dee Bost, “but the only thing we didn’t do, we should’ve made an adjustment, we should’ve at least went zone or made an adjustment, but that’s just part of the game.”

Should he ride the pine for 3 games?

and got abused all night by a girl. Barry shut Fortson down for about 5 possesions, and for some reason we switched back to letting Bost watch him drive by him the entire 2nd half.

It makes absolutely no sense why we didn't go zone. The Ole Miss game in Oxford should have been a prime example as Ole Miss torched our man in the first half by ball-screening and getting lay-ups. In the second half last night, Fortson torched us the exact same way. We have the worst man defense I have seen in our program in some time. Bost, Ravern, and Augustus are terrible defenders. When 3 of 5 starters are poor defensively, you are going to get punished in man. If we didn't have Varnado, we would be at the bottom tier of the SEC. His defense alone keeps us in games.

You can't tell me Fortson's not a beast. He's built like a brick *********, man. I think he could muscle his way past quite a few folks, especially if he had a better supporting cast. I was severely disappointed in:
Bost's and Kodi's over-all play and decision making.
Our three point shot selection (as a team).
Stansbury not changing defensive schemes.

I would say I was mad at stans for not subbing Jarvis, but the truth is the refs handled that for us when they made him sit for the second part of the first half. If I were Stans (oh what a thread that would be) I would come out all piss-and-vinegar in whatever practice we have today, and tell them they are no longer allowed to take contested threes. It's time these boys learned how to drive the lane, make a pass, move around, DO SOMETHING other than jacking up ****** shots from beyond the arc.

Fortson can be a beast and was insane last night. Bost should have said as much himself.I totally fault Stans for not switching to zone or leaving Barry on him until Rotnei started hurting us. I was just simply stating instead of Dee trying to play coach with public comments(although he is correct), he should have acknowledged he got abused.

Stans has no go to guy to cover up his lack of coaching on the offensive end. The Ninja should force him to hire an assistant to coach that side of the ball, and spend some cash on the guy too.

Let our S&C (Adkins) spend some time with Fortson and he will no longer be built like a brick *********. He'll look like Ravern. Damn, has Ravern's body or weight changed since high school?

Raverne and Jarvis just don't have the build/frame to get bigger.

No one had a problem with our S&C when Z, Bowers, Frazier, Mario, Rhodes, Gordon, etc. were here.

Why in the hell did Stans not switch Barry off of Clark to Fortson? Bucket after bucket I kept yelling at the damn TV, SWITCH BARRY TO FORTSON! I'm no basketball genius, but damn, that was so painfully obvious. I'm not a Stans basher and have pretty much kept quiet through all the bickering over him, but after last night I'm really starting to doubt him.

there is a way to keep a woman/man from driving to the basket every single possession down the floor. I don't give a damn what kind of defense that you play. If the coach is standing on the sidelines with a finger up his ***, it looks like at least one player would figure out, ****, I'm gonnatake it upon myself to make sure that this little son of a ***** thinks twice before he/she drives in here again! I give him/her a good hard foul and if I get a flagrant then so be it. I knock him/her down and I don't help him/her get up! What we are lacking is a mean bastard that plays with a chip on his shoulder. From whatI have seen so far with this team is a bench full of pansies and daylillies. We should really think about running out to the song The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow by that Annie chick.

next year unless Smith is a superstar or some other freshmens pull a John Wall. No Varnado, no randy. Varnado is the only big on the entire team that can play defense, with the exception of Wendell Lewis, and he doesnt play. Randy is the only guard that can play D. Bost would have to average 40 a game to make up for all the points we are going to give up. I have no idea what Stans plan is for next year, but I hope it is not Riek - he makes Big Feces look like Shaquille O'Neal. That is the biggest waste of a scholarship since George guy from the early 90's.
