I don't think he knew what the Colbert Report was. It was like he was expecting a legit interview.

I was thinking the same thing, but then he began to go along with Colbert and be kinda funny and goofy too. He probably contacted the Colbert report to be on there. I doubt the Colbert report just randomly picked an MSU professor to be on there. Colbert did make fun of his accent a little bit. Funny stuff.
